ABOUT THE ROLE

We store multibillion files and multiple petabytes of data. We observe more than 11K API requests per second on average. To make that possible and to provide the best possible experience, we rely on great engineers. For us, people who own their work, from start to finish, are integral. Our engineers are part of the process from design to code, to test, to deployment and back again for further iterations. You can, and will, touch every level of the infrastructure depending on the day and what project you are working on. The ideal candidate should be able to take a complex problem and execute end to end. Mentor and set higher standards for the rest of the team and for the new hires.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•  Design, build and maintain self-hosted and cloud environments to serve our own applications and services.

•  Collaborate with software developers to build stable, scalable and high-performance solutions.

•   Taking part in big projects like migrating solutions from self-hosted environments to the cloud, from virtual machines to Kubernetes, from monolith to microservices.

• Proactively make our organization and technology better!
• Advising others as to how DevOps can make a positive impact on their work.

•   Share knowledge, mentor more junior team members while also still learning and gaining new skills.

• Maintain​ ​consistently​ ​high​ ​standards​ ​of​ ​​communication,​ ​productivity, and teamwork​ ​across​ ​all​ ​teams.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

•  5+ years of proven experience in a DevOps Engineer, System Administrator or Developer role, working on infrastructure or build processes.

•  Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

•  Programming prowess (Python, Golang).

• Knowledge and experience about deployment and maintenance of Java and Python apps using application and web servers (Tomcat, Nginx, etc.).

• Ability to solve complex problems with simple, elegant and clean code.

• Practical knowledge of CI/CD solutions, GitLab CI or similar.

• Practical knowledge of Docker as a tool for testing and building an environment.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and related technologies.

• Experience with metric-based monitoring solutions.

• Solid English skills to effectively communicate with other team members.

• Good understanding of the Linux Operating System on the administration level.

• Drive to grow as a DevOps Engineer (we value open-mindedness and a can-do attitude).

• Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive big projects.

BONUS SKILLS:

DevOps & Automation:

• Experience in CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, YAML, Git, and GitHub. Capable of automating build, test, and deployment processes to streamline application delivery.

• Knowledge of data integration practices, including ETL/ELT processes and data transformations.

Application Management & Monitoring:

• Ability to provide comprehensive support for both new and legacy applications.
• Proficient in managing and monitoring application performance using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Understanding of application security principles and best practices.

Database Skills:

• Basic experience of SQL and Azure SQL, including database backups, restores, and application data management.

Role – Sr. Devops Engineer

Location - Bangalore

Experience 5+ Years

Responsibilities

• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
• Planning the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
• Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
• Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Incidence management and root cause analysis.
• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
• Mentoring and guiding the team members 
• Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs

Requirements

• 5-6 years of relevant experience in a Devops role.
• Good knowledge in cloud technologies such as AWS/Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes experience (Mandatory) and good knowledge in Docker.
• Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins.
• Good knowledge in complex Debugging mechanisms (especially JVM) and Java programming experience (Mandatory)
• Significant experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments
• A team player with excellent communication skills.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 Ability to work independently, learn quickly and be proactive

 3-5 years overall and at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in designing and managing DevOps Cloud infrastructure

 Experience must include a combination of:

o Experience working with configuration management tools – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack (expertise in at least one tool is a must)

o Ability to write and maintain code in at least one scripting language (Python preferred)

o Practical knowledge of shell scripting

o Cloud knowledge – AWS, VMware vSphere o Good understanding and familiarity with Linux

o Networking knowledge – Firewalls, VPNs, Load Balancers

o Web/Application servers, Nginx, JVM environments

o Virtualization and containers - Xen, KVM, Qemu, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

o Familiarity with logging systems - Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana

o Git, Jenkins, Jira

Responsibilities

1. Deployment, management, and administration of web services in a public cloud environment
2. Design and develop solutions for deploying highly secure, highly available, performant and scalable services in elastically provisioned environments
3. Design and develop continuous integration and continuous deployment solutions from development through production
4. Own all operational aspects of running web services including automation, monitoring and alerting, reliability and performance
5. Have direct impact on running a business by thinking about innovative solutions to operational problems
6. Drive solutions and communication for production impacting incidents
7. Running technical projects and being responsible for project-level deliveries
8. Partner well with engineering and business teams across continents

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or closely related field
2. 4 - 6 years professional experience in DevOps, with at least 1/2 years in Linux / Unix
3. Very strong in core CS concepts around operating systems, networks, and systems architecture including web services
4. Strong scripting experience in Python and Bash
5. Deep experience administering, running and deploying AWS based services
6. Solid experience with Terraform, Packer and Docker or their equivalents
7. Knowledge of security protocols and certificate infrastructure.
8. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills 
9. Broad experience with cloud hosted applications including virtualization platforms, relational and non relational data stores, reverse proxies, and orchestration platforms
10. Curiosity, continuous learning and drive to continually raise the bar
11. Strong partnering and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

1. Past experience as a senior developer or application architect strongly preferred.
2. Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
3. Experience with Zookeeper, Consul, HAProxy, ELK-Stack, Kafka, PostgreSQL.
4. Experience working with, and preferably designing, a system compliant to any security framework (PCI DSS, ISO 27000, HIPPA, SOC 2, ...)
5. Experience with AWS orchestration services such as ECS and EKS.
6. Experience working with AWS ML pipeline services like AWS Sagemak

Mandatory Skills Sets                                                                   

• Excellent problem-solving skills in technical challenges
• Deep knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS Preferred)
• Understanding of Latest cloud computing technologies
• Experience in architecting solutions based on knowledge of infrastructure & application architectures including the integration approaches
• Complete hands-on with ability to grasp evolving technologies and coding languages
• Excellent communication skills which would involve customer facing role
• Design thinking
• Customer facing skills and strong technical capabilities to review the teams work as well as guide the team
• Experience working/building/contributing to proposals for architecture, estimations

Preferred Skills Sets                                                                      

• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures.
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers.
• Person must have performed Application Architect Role for 3+ years
• AWS platform specific experience a bonus.
• Enterprise application and database architecture a bonus.
