What will you do?

· Define the overall process, which includes building a team for DevOps activities and ensuring that infrastructure changes are reviewed from an architecture and security perspective

· Create standardized tooling and templates for development teams to create CI/CD pipelines

· Ensure infrastructure is created and maintained using terraform

· Work with various stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure changes to support new feature sets in various product lines.

· Maintain transparency and clear visibility of costs associated with various product verticals, environments and work with stakeholders to plan for optimization and implementation

· Spearhead continuous experimenting and innovating initiatives to optimize the infrastructure in terms of uptime, availability, latency and costs

You should apply, if you

1. Are a seasoned Veteran: Have managed infrastructure at scale running web apps, microservices, and data pipelines using tools and languages like JavaScript(NodeJS), Go, Python, Java, Erlang, Elixir, C++ or Ruby (experience in any one of them is enough)

2. Are a Mr. Perfectionist: You have a strong bias for automation and taking the time to think about the right way to solve a problem versus quick fixes or band-aids.

3. Bring your A-Game: Have hands-on experience and ability to design/implement infrastructure with GCP services like Compute, Database, Storage, Load Balancers, API Gateway, Service Mesh, Firewalls, Message Brokers, Monitoring, Logging and experience in setting up backups, patching and DR planning

4. Are up with the times: Have expertise in one or more cloud platforms (Amazon WebServices or Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure), and have experience in creating and managing infrastructure completely through Terraform kind of tool

5. Have it all on your fingertips: Have experience building CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Docker for applications majorly running on Kubernetes. Hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting applications running on K8s

6. Have nailed the data storage game: Good knowledge of Relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL,Mongo, BigQuery, Cassandra…)

7. Bring that extra zing: Have the ability to program/script is and strong fundamentals in Linux and Networking.

8. Know your toys: Have a good understanding of Microservices architecture, Big Data technologies and experience with highly available distributed systems, scaling data store technologies, and creating multi-tenant and self hosted environments, that’s a plus

Alternative Path is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer, to assist one of its clients, which is a credit intelligence firm to manage and maintain databases, which are central to their operations.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal application performance. You will own the automation of virtual infrastructure deployment and configuration, and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels. Your role includes build, release, and configuration management, designing disaster recovery strategies, and ensuring critical system security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of all infrastructure with a focus on high availability and application performance
• Ownership of automating virtual infrastructure deployment and configuration
• Brief senior leadership and end-users about the benefits of the solution and the technology choices made.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders of varying expertise levels
• Build, release, and configuration management
• Design DR strategies and assist with BCP planning
• System troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains.
• Ensuring critical system security using best-in-class cloud security solutions.

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in a senior role administering Linux AWS cloud infrastructure
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with databases including MySQL, Mongo & Elasticsearch
• Expert knowledge of AWS cloud management concepts and services (EC2, S3, RDS, A/ELB, EBS, VPC, Route53, Lambda)
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve & document RCA of highly complex environments
• Expert level understanding of Linux (Ubuntu)
• Thorough knowledge of DB configuration, concepts, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Security design theory knowledge as well as experience in designing, implementing, monitoring
• IaaS orchestration & configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef or SaltStack)
• Experience automating the deployment of multiple frameworks to (PHP, Laravel, NodeJS, Java, Python)

Requirements:

• Previously help a DevOps Engineer or System Engineer role

• 4+ years of production Linux system admin experience in high traffic environment

• 1+ years of experience with Amazon AWS and related services (instances, ELB,

   EBS, S3, etc.) and abstractions on top of AWS.

• Strong understanding of network fundamentals, IP and related services (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.) and    

   security concerns.

• Experience in running Docker and Kubernetes clusters in production.

• Love automating mundane tasks and make developers life easy

• Must be able to code in, at a minimum, Python (or Ruby) and Bash.

Experience: 4+ Yrs

Responsibilities:

• As part of a team you will design, develop, and maintain scalable multi cloud DevOps blueprint.

• Understand overall virtualization platform architecture in cloud environments and design best of class solutions that fit the SaaS offering & legacy application modernization

• Continuously improve CI/CD pipeline, tools, processes and procedures and systems relating to Developer Productivity

• Collaborate continuously with the product development teams to implement CI/CD pipeline.

• Contribute to the subject matter on Developer Productivity, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation best practices.

Mandatory Skills:

• 1+ years of commercial server-side software development experience & 3+ years of commercial DevOps experience.

• Strong scripting skills (Java or Python) is a must.

• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc.

Mandatory Skills:

• Experience working with Secret management services such as HashiCorp Vault is desirable.

• Experience working with Identity and access management services such as Okta, Cognito is desirable.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

• B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech (Computer science/Information science/Information Technology is a Plus)

Role : SRE

Experience : 4 - 8 Years

• Experience in building, deploying and operating cloud solutions on Kubernetes

• Hands-on experience as a DevOps or Automation development

• Experience in writing software to automate orchestration tasks at scale; we commonly use Python, Go, and Shell scripting
