Area Business Manager

What you'll get to do
1. As a founding backend engineer, design, build and evolve the backend architecture

of our product to support customer-facing and internal features to serve 1000s of
customers and millions of data requests per hour
2. You will engage in technical decisions from choosing the optimal database design to
best-practice infrastructure decisions
3. You will proactively incorporate best practices for security, analytics, and monitoring
4. You will contribute to DevOps by building procedures for deployment,
troubleshooting, and maintenance
5. You will work directly with the CTO to set the tone for the engineering culture

1. You have 4+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying production-level
large-scale web applications
2. You have hands-on experience with Node JS and other programming languages
(Ruby, Go, Python)
3. You have worked previously on PostgreSQL, SQL, and Message Queue 4. Practical

platform like AWS or Google Cloud.

The Technical Lead Full Stack will be part of the IT Innovation team that will be responsible for solving business problems leveraging new and innovative technology.   In this role, you will be responsible for working in a cross-functional team to understand the business problem and iterate through the problem until you have a working proof of concept that can be piloted

 

What you will do:

• Work with stakeholders (product owners, project managers, and scrum masters) to define and clarify requirements.
• Provide technical and work direction to the other global developers (be their conduit to the local team)
• Hands-on development of defined architecture and design of both front-end and back-end programming.
• Ability to keep informed of industry trends and technologies.
• Ability to break down complex requirements into specific work items.
• Implement and carry out unit testing.
• Leverage the DevOps team to ensure the product can be automatically built, deployed, and tested using CI/CD pipelines across all of the release cycles from dev to production.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven ability to develop resilient code that performs, and scales based on application usage.
• 6+ years of experience in developing using JavaScript and JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular and React
• 6+ years of experience building applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web, JSON/XAML-based REST API.
• 3+ years of experience building RESTful web services using NodeJS
• Experience with Unit Testing Frameworks like UnitJS, Mocha
• Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or Visual Studio Team Services
• Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Atom or Eclipse
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a distributed and global environment
• Understanding of building applications deployed in the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) leveraging PaaS and IaaS Services
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of people

Skills required:

Must have:
- You breathe Javascript day-in, day-out and yet feel that there’s more than you can learn.
- You are aware of Javascript design patterns and can architect a fairly complex UI without feeling the need for a framework.
- You don’t shy away from writing HTML and CSS because you love designing a beautiful webpage with Semantic mark-up.
