Role Overview

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will drive the development and optimization of robust backend systems for our products built on the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) stack. You'll lead a talented team of developers, design scalable architectures, and ensure the seamless integration of backend functionalities with our frontend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend systems for Vijay Sales' products.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and microservices.
• Mentor and guide a team of backend developers, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and DevOps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, DevOps, and product managers, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Optimize database structures and queries for performance and scalability.
• Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, security issues, and other technical challenges.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve our stack.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Proven experience as a backend engineer with expertise in the MERN stack (Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Proficiency in database design, indexing, and optimization (MongoDB is preferred).
• Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of authentication/authorization frameworks (JWT, OAuth2).
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward innovation.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in building scalable eCommerce platforms or omni-channel systems.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (React.js) for seamless backend integration.
• Familiarity with message brokers.
• Serverless and Micro Architectures
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven applications for personalization and recommendation engines.

What kind of work will you get?

We are looking for a Nodejs developer.

Examples of technical tasks:

Working on our backend SDK to implement APIs that will be consumed by the frontend widgets

Designing APIs for different auth recipes

Architecting auth flows

You will also be given non technical tasks like product brain storming, competitor analysis and writing documentation.

Requirements

Well versed in nodejs with 2+ years of professional experience

Familiar with and comfortable working with Web frameworks like FastAPI, Django and Flask

Familiar with HTTP networking in nodejs

Strong understanding of async and sync modes in nodejs

Bonus:

Contributed to open source, or have your own open source repo with a community and many github stars

Built an in-house authentication or authorization solution or worked with solutions such as Keycloak, Auth0, Ory, Okta etc

Position Overview: We are looking for a senior developer who must be capable of building services using modern microservices architecture with NodeJS & serverless frameworks. Should have strong knowledge of ObjectOriented Concepts, and Node. Js frameworks like loopback, RDBMS, and microservice patterns. The candidate should be comfortable with application coding based on design and specifications, and also be comfortable working with JSON and RESTful services. The candidate must be a top-notch developer committed to keeping learning new things and becoming an integral part of and fostering growth within our development team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining the backend systems that support the application
• Designing and implementing APIs and Microservices architecture to handle the application workload
• Developing and optimizing queries for RDBMS (MySQL) to manage data and ensure performance and scalability
• Managing and deploying the application on AWS using Lambda, ECS and other related services
• Collaborating with front-end developers to ensure smooth communication between front-end and back-end systems and back-end systems
• Writing clean, neat and reusable code that follows coding standards and best practices.
• Participating in code reviews and ensuring that coding standards are maintained
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise in production environments
• Optimizing the application for performance, scalability, and security

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Nodejs & front-end Technology.

• Strong understanding of MEAN or MERN Stack.

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, RWD, Javascript, and JQuery.

• Bring 1+ years of Experience in Node with typescript or React.

• Strong OOPS ( Object Oriented Programming ) concepts.

• Good knowledge of browser caching, working with cookies and Java scripts for faster website loads.

• Mean/Mern Stack Developer with hands-on experience in Node.js, typescript, and angular.

• Experience developing and improving REST APIs.

• Experience working with AWS Clouds/Azure.

• Experience building web UI dashboards and other self-service solutions.

• Relational DB knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server).

• NoSQL knowledge (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or Hadoop).

• Ability to recite design patterns.

• Experience leading Agile projects and getting results in Scrum or Kanban teams and workflows.

• Experience with practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) is a plus

Required skills:-
