Job Description: Data Analyst Intern

Location: On-site, Bangalore

Duration: 6 months (Full-time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct analytical deep-dives such as funnel analysis, cohort tracking, branch-wise performance reviews, TAT analysis, portfolio diagnostic, credit risk analytics that lead to clear actions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to convert business questions into measurable analyses and clearly communicated outputs.
• Support digital underwriting initiatives, including assisting in the development and analysis of underwriting APIs that enable decisioning on borrower eligibility (“whom to lend”) and exposure sizing (“how much to lend”).
• Develop and maintain periodic MIS and KPI reporting for key business functions (e.g., pipeline, disbursals, TAT, conversion, collections performance, portfolio trends).
• Use Python (pandas, numpy) to clean, transform, and analyse datasets; automate recurring reports and data workflows.
• Perform basic scripting to support data validation, extraction, and lightweight automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivots, lookup functions, data cleaning, and structured analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy); ability to write clean, maintainable scripts/notebooks.
• Strong logical reasoning and attention to detail, including the ability to identify errors and validate results rigorously.
• Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and imperfect datasets while maintaining output quality.

Preferred (Good to Have):

• REST APIs: A fundamental understanding of APIs and previous experience or projects related to API development/integrations.
• Familiarity with basic AWS tools/services: (S3, lambda, EC2, Glue Jobs).
• Experience with Git and basic engineering practices.
• Any experience with the lending/finance industry.
