Skillset 🧗🏼♀️
- You primarily identify as a Frontend Engineer or a UI Engineer and are comfortable working on the browser side of things with 7+ years experience (preferably from B2C startup companies).
- You can build accessible interfaces with semantic HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- You can build reusable, performant, and well-tested web applications that are responsive and work across various devices and platforms.
- You can build features from scratch which are modular and scalable. You don’t hesitate to take them from design to implementation.
- You have shipped code to production recently and regularly.
- You are experienced in working with using modern web frameworks, like React, Vue, and friends. We use React but prefer people with strong web concepts and fundamentals who are open to learning any framework/library.
- You are fluent in using the tools of the trade: editors, git, command line, Slack, Jira (unfortunately yes)
- You are driven, you care about turning in quality work, and improving your craft.
- You have high integrity, and you are reliable.

Skillset 🧗🏼♀️
- You primarily identify as a DevOps/Infrastructure engineer and are comfortable working with systems and cloud-native services on AWS
- You can design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure delivering cloud-based services
- You have experience operating and maintaining production systems in a Linux based public cloud environment
- You are familiar with cloud-native concepts - Containers, Lambdas, Orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes)
- You’re in love with system metrics and strive to help deliver improvements to systems all the time
- You can think in terms of Infrastructure as Code to build tools for automating deployment, monitoring, and operations of the platform
- You can be on-call once every few weeks to provide application support, incident management, and troubleshooting

About you
- Highly-skilled and experienced Data Scientist and leader
- You are interested in creating next-gen data-powered education tech products.
- You’ve worked in a Data Science role before where you took a data product to market
- You are comfortable working with unknowns, evaluating the data, and applying scientific techniques to business problems and products
- You’ve built platforms and systems from scratch
- You have a track record of developing and deploying data-science models to production
Let’s talk tech
- End-to-end AI/ML systems in the cloud, including data processing, feature engineering, and tuning of ML models in training and production (MLOps) — with both structured and unstructured data.
- Deep Learning and Computer Vision models, ideally in a production environment
- Hands-on Python/SQL, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, Tensorflow, MXnet, etc.
- Experience in Scala/Java/Go/C/C++ is a plus plus
- Airflow/Luigi/Oozie and the likes
- Familiarity with cloud deployment strategies (AWS/GCP) to deploy at scale
Track record
- B.S./B.E./M.S./PhD in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent years of experience
- 10+ years of experience in data science, algorithmic engineering, and machine learning. Preferably solved problems from scratch to scale
- Experience in hiring, managing highly-performant teams, and mentoring data science, data engineering, and analytics teams
- Experience developing a data science strategy, building the roadmap, and leading the execution
- Track record of recruiting talent in analytics and data science
