Finance Manager
As the Finance Manager at eShipz, you will play a pivotal role in the accounts group. You will assist to identify, assess, monitor, and report on the company’s complete list of accounts and tax-related matters. You will bring a broad knowledge of tax law as well as keen business judgment. Your role is vital to the growth of the Company and will play a key role in developing and driving strategic decisions and improvements within the finance organization.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with external tax advisers in supporting the preparation of the quarterly income tax provisions, annual tax compliance filings, R&D credit study
- Monitor tax planning, post-merger, and acquisition activity to ensure such transaction(s) and other tax technical matters are appropriately addressed in tax returns.
- Proactively consider, analyze, and communicate the financial statement impact of business transactions, changes in business results, tax projects and legislative changes
- Partner with various teams within the organization to meet the needs of the business including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, HR and Engineering.
- Educate cross-functional teams about tax risk and issues/opportunities arising from our activity.
- Work closely with external auditors to resolve issues and ensure timely sign-off.
- Monitor and refine internal controls over the income tax reporting process.
- Drive the resolution of corresponding with taxing authorities and new business initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting tax
- CA inter (semi Qualified) Mandatory
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate tax laws and should have experience in handling Due- Diligence, Statutory audit & MIS Reporting
- Hands-on Experience in GST, TDS & other statutory compliance
- Experience in Zoho books/ Quick books is plus
- Tax experience with companies in the start-up or newly public phase, either in-house or with a large public accounting firm showing progressive complexity in scope and responsibilities. SaaS industry experience is a plus.
- Self-motivated team player with good leadership skills who is confident in communicating with others and able to with minimal supervision.
- Ability to articulate complex tax concepts in a business setting across multiple audiences, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate, develop relationships and partner effectively across the organization in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing, manage balance sheet and P/L statements
- Document financial transactions by entering account information, review and reconciling accounts
payable and receivable
- Ensure timely vendor payments, compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Review financial transactions and documents
- Preparing PF, PT and ESIC returns and fulfilling the statutory compliance of the company.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Preparation of GST returns and filings.
Requirement
2-3 years of relevant experience and at least a year of working experience in
the FinTech industry is preferred.
Professional accounting qualifications (CA/CMA) Inter is a plus.
Strong Excel skill is required.
Detail-oriented
GST:
- Verification of Books of accounts, Revenue Data and Computation of GST liability on a monthly basis
- Verification and Computation of RCM Liability on monthly basis,
- Filing of GSTR 1, GSTR 3B & Monthly returns.
- GSTR - 2A/2B reconciliation with books of accounts.
- Filling GSTR 9 – Annual return and GST audit
TDS:
- Working closely with the Tax consultants for advisory and foreign tax-related matters
Handling the assessments and queries if any
- Computation of TDS & Equalisation Levy liability on monthly basis,
- Filing of TDS returns verification of PAN etc for Payroll and Vendor related payouts.,
- Filing of Equalisation Leavy returns,
- Interacting with other functions/departments within the company
- Knowledge of WHT on International Transactions
Transfer Pricing:
- Knowledge of Transfer Pricing transactions and compliance
- Foreign subsidiaries tax compliance and structuring transactions working with foreign consultants
- Monthly/quarterly local compliances relating to International subsidiaries (US, Middle east etc)
- Other matters related to taxation
