About the Role:

We're hiring an experienced IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Developer to join a fast-paced development team supporting mission-critical business applications. This is a hands-on development role not administration or support working across COBOL/400, RPGLE, CLLE, and DB2 for i in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Mandatory Skills:

• Minimum 6 months1 year hands-on COBOL/400 (CBLLE) development experience non-negotiable
• 4+ years hands-on IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) application development
• Strong RPGLE (including free-form RPG) and CLLE programming
• DB2 for i (DB2/400), SQLRPGLE, SQLCBLLE, triggers, stored procedures
• Rational Developer for i (RDi) or similar IDE
• Version control experience (Git preferred; SVN acceptable)
• Unit testing practices/frameworks for IBM i code
• Agile/Scrum development experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain IBM i applications (COBOL/400, RPGLE, CLLE)
• Build and optimize DB2 for i programs, including SQLRPGLE and embedded SQL
• Create and troubleshoot triggers, stored procedures, and database objects
• Participate in Agile ceremonies sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives
• Support production troubleshooting, debugging, and timely fixes
• Mentor junior developers on IBM i best practices

Important Notes Before Applying:

• This is a 6-month contract position please apply only if you're open to a contract engagement for the full duration.
• Candidates without hands-on COBOL experience will not be considered, regardless of RPG/CL depth.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of AS400-Cobol.
• Familiarity with CL and DB2
• Basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in a function or skill.
• Willing to depend on others for instruction, guidance, or direction.
