Insurity’s Next Data Scientist:

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Predict team, focused on building and maintaining predictive models that support underwriting, claims, and audit use cases across Workers' Compensation and Commercial Auto. This role will be based in India and will play a key part in scaling our data science capabilities.

What Our Data Scientist Will Do: 

• Develop predictive models using GLM and machine learning techniques such as GBM, Random Forest, and XGBoost
• Perform feature engineering, selection, and transformation to optimize model performance
• Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to uncover insights and support model development
• Indentify and integrate third-party data sources to augment existing datasets and improve model accuracy
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate models into production environments
• Use AWS tools such as SageMaker and EC2 to build, train, and deploy models
• Document modeling decisions and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support model monitoring and performance tracking over time

Who We’re Looking For:

• 2-5 years of experience in data science or predictive modeling
• Strong understanding of GLM and ML algorithms (GBM, XGBoost, Random Forest)
• Experience with Python and relevant libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy)
• Familiarity with AWS tools, especially SageMaker and EC2
• Experience with feature engineering and model evaluation techniques

Responsibilities

1. Identify potential customer targets from enterprise/corporate segments.

2. Researching key contacts of Architects, MEP Consultants, PMC for Commercial Real Estate projects

3. Generating leads, and taking ownership of the sales journey (lead gen to closure)

4. Apply consultative sales skills (by using case studies, use cases, etc.) to build relationships with stakeholders and close deals.

5. Creating client demos/ presentations, quotes/ proposals

6. Providing accurate sales activity tracking and status on CRM

7. A track record of closing deals on monthly or quarterly targets

Were looking for someone who (you should have):

1. Has proven experience of 3-6 years in IoT/ SaaS industry selling products, solutions to various stakeholders such in buildings/real-estate community

2. Has experience of working directly with Facility managers, consultant, architects, design & build, HVAC consultant, lighting consultant, PMC and Specify our products, solutions, getting necessary approvals.

3. Willing to work in a 20-80 environment of office and field environment.

4. Has knowledge of the technical specifications, procurement process, decision making criteria, processes used in the industry etc

5. Team player, with excellent oral & written communication, presentation skills and must be able to articulate technology & product positioning to both business & technical users.

6. Well organized, analytical, detail-oriented and quality-minded, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

- Strong Object Oriented design and programming skills in SWIFT
