Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Job Description

An AEM developer/architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Here's a breakdown of the job:

Key Responsibilities

- AEM Development: Develop and implement AEM components, templates, and workflows.

- Component Development: Develop custom AEM components, including Sightly/HTL, Java, and JavaScript.

- Integration: Integrate AEM with other Adobe Marketing Cloud products or third-party systems.

- Content Management: Work with content authors to design and implement content management solutions using AEM.

- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with AEM applications.

Essential Skills

- AEM Expertise: Strong understanding of AEM architecture, including AEM Sites, Assets, and Forms.

- Sightly/HTL: Experience with Sightly/HTL templating language.

- Java: Knowledge of Java programming language for AEM development.

- OSGi: Understanding of OSGi framework and its application in AEM.

- Content Management: Familiarity with content management principles and best practices.

• Adobe AEM Developer will play a vital role in the development, design, testing and deployment of Adobe Experience Management Web and Mobile solutions
• Work with Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Business Analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams
• Work with AEM developers and others to deliver digital components and experiences
• Contribute to common component library
• Follow common component library guidelines
• Conduct code reviews, employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse

Duties and Responsibilities :

• The AEM Developer will play a vital role in the design, development, testing and deployment of Adobe Experience Management Web and Mobile solutions
• Will work closely with clients, developers, system administrators, project managers, business analysts and end-users to build a state-of-the-art Digital Platform using Adobe's Digital Marketing Product Suite
• Design efficient content models, security models, workflows and templates.
• Develop AEM templates and components leveraging current AEM software releases
• Employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse.
• Review and audit of the existing solution, design and system architecture
• Assist with tasks regarding profiling, troubleshooting of existing solutions
• Create technical documentation
• Integrate external data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Required Skills :

• AEM 6.3+ experience is ideal
• Experience implementing Adobe AEM or similar web
• Content management system (AEM 6.0 and later required; AEM 6.4 is a plus)
• Design, develop and support AEM components, integrations and applications
• Experience integrating Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics with AEM
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP-based web services
• Experience with most of the modern project management, CI / CD & team collaboration tools - JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins etc.
• Understanding of with Agile (Scrum), project planning, execution, risk management, and resource management
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Fluent oral, written English and a good team player
