We're seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team.

As a backend engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable backends for the products we build at NonStop.

This includes APIs, databases, and server-side logic.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend systems, including APIs, databases, and server-side logic
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
• Debug and resolve issues in the existing codebase
• Develop and execute unit tests to ensure high code quality
• Work with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless deployment of software changes
• Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize systems for better scalability and efficiency
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies; advocate for best practices and new ideas within the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience building scalable and reliable backend systems
• Strong proficiency in either of the programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Golang, RoR
• Experience with either of the frameworks such as Django, Express, gRPC
• Knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility wrt picking a new technology stack and ramping up on the same fairly quickly
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

We are looking for a purist Python developer intern to manage and improve our REST APIs, and role-based access control functionalities, and build out new product features in our products while maintaining data integrity in various systems

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Learn to employ technologies that are distributed in nature.
• Take ownership of your work – keep a keen eye out for bugs that might arise, ardently resolve them; make feature additions to your product; or sometimes, when you’re feeling ambitious
• Be versatile – Work on Django applications, micro-services, data tools, cloud and DevOps.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on building new features and debugging.
• Write a new post on our engineering blog every time you learn and roll something out.

Skills required:

• You understand the technology and have a knack for finding creative solutions to complex problems
• Good in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework, Django preferred
• Keen interest in building web applications.
• Should love challenges, and pick up new languages, frameworks, or technologies on the go.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Available for 4-6 months of internship.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will be required to Design, Configure, Build, Test, Deploy and Maintain ERPNext and Frappe based applications:

• Gathering technical requirements for internal and external customers.
• Creation of documentation for software development and testing.
• Participation and use of Agile development methodologies
• Drive continuous improvement in development and operations best practices
• Ability to convey complex information in both written and oral form to technical and non-technical audiences

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS:
Core qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal communication skills are needed in order to work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross-functional teams to meet development timelines
• Able to understand the complex business process and manage the project.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment
• Hands-on experience in developing ERP applications from the ground up.

Technical qualifications:

• Experience in Frappe, ERPNext, JS, MySQL, Python & Frappe based web development. 
• Hands-on Product development over Frappe Framework, ERPNext
• Experience with workflows, access controls, page layouts, custom objects, custom record types, reports, and dashboards design and development
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies 
• OOP concepts and Backend Development Experience
• MySQL on MariaDB or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with hosting web application on Apache or NGINX
• Experience in UI/UX development for Web Applications is essential.
• Experience with one or more ERPNext Modules like Human Resources, CRM, Buying, Selling, Asset Management, Stock, Buying, Accounting, and Project.
• Senior position requires experience with multiple modules of ERPNext. 
• BS in computer science or technology equivalent preferred
