🎬Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Leader with a focus on building maintainable and scalable applications. The Lead will be responsible for the design and development of Jodo’s fee payments platform and be owning one of the products/verticals. Leads will be closely working

with Product Managers and Founders to execute projects from ideation to completion. As a hands-on Team Lead, you will take ownership of services/systems and guide a team of

developers.

📈Key Responsibilities

● Own and drive the development of one or more of Jodo’s products

● Take the lead in the design and development of the backend platform

● Mentor a team of developers, promote collaboration and engagement, and promote practices that improve the developer experience

● Work closely with Product Managers and Founders to brainstorm requirements and prioritize

● Own quality - actively participate in code reviews

● Own reliability - continuously monitor Production Health, proactively fix production issues

● Own execution - Plan and delegate work for the team, optimize for speed of development and incremental delivery

📃Requirements

● 6+ years of hands-on experience in application development

● 1+ years of leading a team

● Experience in working with distributed systems

● Proficient in building Microservices/RESTful APIs with any modern tech stack

● Working knowledge of relational and nonrelational databases

● Prior working knowledge of Python/Django is a big plus

● Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools

● Knowledge of AWS or any other Cloud Platform services

● Champion code quality and drive best practices

● Ability to analyze and convert business requirements into technical requirements

● Self-starter and ability to take the ownership

● Prior experience working in a startup environment is great to have

Overview of the Role

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and build performant modern web applications and services. Build high quality web applications and services by writing clean and modular code

Must have Skills

• 10+ years of experience in leading teams and delivering product, write unit and integration tests to ensure robustness and reliability of web applications and services. 
• Measure and improve performance of microservices.
• Catalyze growth within the team through code reviews and pair programming to maintain high development standards Investigate operational issues to find the root cause and propose improvements Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams.
• Expert level of experience in design and development of Web Applications, highly scalable distributed systems.

• Building components for the company's advanced health tech platform using Java, Solr, SpringBoot, DialogFlow

• Participating in technical planning and requirements gathering phases including design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications
• Developing the Code as per the requirements

What you need to have:

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, architect and develop advanced software solutions in a cross functional Agile team supporting multiple projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with product owners and/or the business on requirements definition, development of functional specifications, and design
• Collaborate on or lead development of technical design and specifications as required
• Code, test and document new applications as well as changes to existing system functionality and ensure successful completion
• Take on leadership roles as needed

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of software development experience using GoLang/Java programming language
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP/Pivotal Cloud Foundry/any private cloud) and containerization is required
• AWS - experience in extensive use of AWS offerings like Redis, Kafka etc.
• Experience with a micro-services architecture is a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other Relational Databases
• Test-driven development mindset and a focus on quality, scalability, and performance
• Strong programming fundamentals and ability to produce high quality code
• Solid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) Development Process required

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

You will be building solutions for personalization, logistics, search & discovery, payments, fraud prevention, and scalability that works and solve problems elegantly

Responsibilities:

• Develop server-side components, REST APIs

• Assume ownership for existing and new modules including design, development, and unit testing for enhancements of existing modules and development of new modules.

• Analyse problems logically and exercise sound judgment in defining, evaluating, and solving difficult technical and operational problems where solutions may be of a precedent-establishing nature.

Requirements:

• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field) from IITs and Premier Engineering College.

• Excellent Object Orientation, coupled with excellent problem solving and debugging skills.

• Highly skilled at Java and related technologies, including Java Frameworks like Spring-boot or Drop wizard, RESTful web services, JSON, Servlet, JSP, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, AWS Solr.

• Must have hands-on experience in building scalable and secure back end systems.

• Have hands-on experience with systems that are asynchronous, RESTful and demand concurrency

• Good to have knowledge of best software engineering practices for all stages of the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, testing, deployment.
