Responsibilities:

• Build, scale and maintain various services on the Klevu platform
• Design and develop solutions for business needs on the Klevu platform

Must have skills:

• 4+ years on experience with Java
• Experience in Web application development on Spring framework
• Experience working with database technologies – RDBMS or NoSQL
• Ability to communicate effectively within and outside the engineering team
• Familiar with agile software development process

Nice to haves:

• Experience in Hibernate, MySql, Redis, ActiveMQ or Kafka
• Experience in UI Frameworks like Jquery, React, Angular or equivalent
• Experience in REST API development
• Experience in debugging issues and checking production logs
• Experience working in eCommerce and/or SAAS startups
• Experience working with microservices architecture

• Design and build user-facing products, owning the entire process from gathering functional requirements from teams, through testing and staging, to deploying in a Python based stack
• Guide the team in making technical trade-offs
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, areas for improvement and put forth a plan to course-correct
• Design and implement maintainable backend services, including data processing pipelines, APIs and internal tools
• Coordinating with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions

Responsibilities:

• Experience and working knowledge of Java 8, Hibernate, Spring Boot, Microservices and REST API is mandatory
• Expert understanding of the object-oriented design and programming concepts
• Strong problem solving skills, data structures and algorithms and multithreading
• Good understanding of AWS and cloud-native technologies
• Knowledge of AWS services - RDS, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Kinesis. Experience of working with AWS SDK is preferred.
• Good understanding of CI/CD and Jenkins pipeline
• Experience of writing unit tests using Junit/Mockito
• Knowledge of Integration Testing framework like Cucumber is required.
• Proficient in Git commands and branching concepts

• To support and maintain existing Java code base, debug the application 
• To analyse user and business requirements and design and implement appropriate solutions 
• To design and code programs following in-house standards and good design principles 
• To ensure that all programs are documented to the company standards 
• To create unit test plans and perform unit testing of the programs
• To provide advice and guidance to other members of the team

• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms 
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns 
• Good knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate) 
• Experience in the Spring Framework 
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC) 
• Experience in RESTFul webservices
• Experience with test-driven development 
• Exposure to portal/mobility development - Desired
• Exposure to any of middleware solutions like MQ, Oracle fusion middleware(WebLogic), WebSphere, Open Source

Requirements:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering from a reputed institute (preferably IITs, NITs, or other top engineering institutes)

• Drive design discussion of complex features and own development of these modules across the application stack.

• Experience evolving the design and operation scale as new features are added to the product
• Mentor junior developers and ensure quality code output (via code reads, reading references, etc.) from them.
• Co-ordinate with internal teams and external partners in ensuring we build the best solution on time for the customer. Constantly looking at ways to innovate and improve the product.
• 8+ years of experience in Java & J2EE based Web Technologies & Frameworks with a focus in either Service Oriented Architecture or APIs. 
• Experience in designing scalable solutions in a large-scale distributed environment.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, common web frameworks, networking, SQL and database technologies
• Well versed in software engineering principles, frameworks and technologies
• Strong debugging / troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to propose and defend solutions.
• Ability to work closely with product management, customer support, and  other engineering teams to continuously evolve and innovate the enterprise-class Products.
