Backend Developer

About the Role:

We’re looking for a skilled Backend Developer (2–6 years of experience) who can design and build scalable backend systems, ensure high-performance APIs, and contribute to the technology powering a fast-growing jewelry platform. You’ll work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver robust, scalable, and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, secure, and well-documented backend code.
• Work with relational databases, ensuring optimized queries and data integrity.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to deliver end-to-end features.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems for performance and reliability.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technology choices as the platform scales.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in Python with frameworks like Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Experience building and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of version control (Git).
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Understanding of microservices architecture (good to have).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (good to have).
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills.
• Experience working in e-commerce or marketplace environments.

What you’ll be doing at Novo:

● Systems thinking
● Creating best practices, templates, and automation for build, test, integration and
deployment pipelines on multiple projects
● Designing and developing tools for easily creating and managing dev/test infrastructure
and services in AWS cloud
● Providing expertise and guidance on CI/CD, Github, and other development tools via
containerization
● Monitoring and support systems in Dev, UAT and production environments
● Building mock services and production-like data sources for use in development and
testing
● Managing Github integrations, feature flag systems, code coverage tools, and other
development & monitoring tools tools
● Participating in support rotations to help troubleshoot to infrastructure issues

● Creating and working with containers, as well as using container orchestration tools
(Kubernetes / Docker)
● AWS: S3, EKS, EC2, RDS, Route53, VPC etc.
● Fair understanding of Linux
● Good knowledge of CI/CD : Jenkins / CircleCI / Github Actions
● Basic level of monitoring
● Support for Deployment along with various Web Servers and Linux environments , both
backend and frontend.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Objective-C, or increasingly, the Swift 3.0 programming language

Apples Xcode IDE

Frameworks and APIs like Foundation, UIKit, and CocoaTouch

UI and UX design experience

Apple Human Interface Guidelines

2D and 3D graphics frameworks like SpriteKit and SceneKit

OpenGL or Metal, iOS graphics APIs

Familiarity with iOS 10 and newer OS versions

A Git code repository technology

Strong Objective-C skills and inside-and-out knowledge of the iOS SDK.

Experience using and creating scalable web-based Restful APIs.

The Senior Full Stack Developer is responsible for bringing the platform to the next level and ensuring the stability of the core platform. S/he will report directly to our GM and will have the opportunity to participate in the next phase of growth at Delishop, developing the platform and adapting it to meet the needs of new verticals. S/he will have flexibility and responsibilities from day one with expectations to contribute to the growth of the company by bringing new ideas and solutions to the table.

Duties:

• Coordinate project work with junior staff under the supervision of the GM.
• Act as a technical lead to the junior staff
• Lead production troubleshooting.
• Participate in the ideation of how to optimise the platform.

Requirements:

• At least 4-5 years of working experience in development.
• Very good knowledge of ReactJS including workflows (eg: redux)
• Good knowledge of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, PHP).
• Experience creating and using APIs (REST)
• Solid experience with ExpressJS/lambda and other backend technologies
• Understand of token and authentication mechanisms (eg: JWT)
• Experience with AWS, Command line tools and Auto-Scaling Environments.
• Comfortable with GIT (CLI), including branching and merging.
