Technical Co-Founder (Equity Only)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Python AWS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development using Python, cloud infrastructure on AWS, and building serverless or microservices-based architectures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure applications in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Python and frameworks like Django or Flask
• Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services
• Develop data processing pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best practices
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Monitor and optimize system performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate with DevOps and front-end teams to integrate APIs and cloud-native services
• Maintain and improve application security and compliance with industry standards

Required Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK)
• Good understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, and version control systems
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, ECS, or EKS) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PySpark, Pandas, or data engineering tools
• Working knowledge of Django, Flask, or other Python frameworks
• AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer – Associate) is a plus

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Blockchain engineers are tasked with building secure, scalable, and high-performance decentralized applications. This discussion focuses on how to utilize key technologies—Node.js, Rust, Go, TypeScript, Ethers.js, viem, and Hardhat—in smart contract and blockchain system development, while addressing the practical challenges that arise in such projects.

Key Discussion Points:

• How do you integrate Node.js, Rust, Go, and TypeScript in blockchain-backed applications?

• Discuss the trade-offs between using Rust or Go for performance-critical blockchain services.

• What are the key challenges in ensuring the security and scalability of smart contracts using tools like Ethers.js, viem, and Hardhat?

Evaluation Criteria:

1. Technical Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of Node.js, Rust, Go, and TypeScript with practical experience in blockchain development.

• Understanding of security best practices, performance optimizations, and scalability in decentralized systems.

2. Problem-Solving and Integration Skills:

• How candidates approach integrating smart contract solutions with backend services using Node.js, Rust, Go, and TypeScript.

• Solutions proposed for common challenges in blockchain projects such as gas fees, security vulnerabilities, and system bottlenecks.

3. Experience and Expertise:

• Minimum of 2 years of IT experience, including hands-on development with the specified technologies.

• Practical knowledge of blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, and decentralized application deployment.

4. Innovation and Critical Thinking:

• Candidates’ ability to think creatively about system architecture, proposing scalable and secure solutions for blockchain-based applications.

• Discussion on the future potential of blockchain technology and how the tech stack can evolve.

5. Communication and Team Collaboration:

• Clear articulation of technical challenges and how to address them in a team setting.

• Ability to lead or contribute to discussions in a way that encourages collaboration and team-driven problem-solving.

• 5 years experience with the Django framework
• Experience with building APIs (REST or GraphQL) 
• Strong Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• React.js knowledge would be an added bonus 
• Understanding on how to use a database like Postgres (prefered choice), SQLite, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis.
• A strong passion for writing simple, clean and efficient code.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git.

Experience:

• Min 5 year experience
• Startup experience is a must. 

Location:

• Remote developer

Timings:

• 40 hours a week but with 4 hours a day overlapping with client timezone.  Typically clients are in California PST Timezone.

• Work with stakeholders and fellow developers.
• Design and implement Python code using the Django framework.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks that may arise from inefficient code.
• Identify and fix software bugs.
• Create a wide variety of unit tests to verify the functionality of software.

You have 5 years or more of Backend end development experience with expertise in designing and implementing high-performance applications.

Worked with and built high-performance products using Node Js/GoLang/ Python and have seen the product evolution cycle from PoC to Production

You have a deep understanding of design principles and can rightly judge/implement solutions to complex problems

You are capable of writing high-quality code that conforms to the standards and best practices in a particular language/framework.

You have experience building a product using a mainstream library or framework.

You love to own end to end responsibility, starting from defining the problem statement (either yourself or alongside your peers), development (PoC if needed), testing, releasing in staging & then production environment, and finally monitoring.

Previous work experience in product-based startups

Experience building for products that have scaled and have seen the product evolution

• Relevant Experience : Minimum 2 Years
• You have prior experience developing and working on consumer facing web/app products
• Hands-on experience on Python. Exceptions can be made if you’re really good on any other language with experience on building web/app based tech products
• Experience in at least one of the following frameworks - Django, Flask, Falcon, web2py, Twisted, Tornado
• Working knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms and Operating Systems
• You've worked with core AWS services in the past and have experience with EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudFront, S3
• You can dabble in Frontend codebases using HTML, CSS and Javascript

Job Description :

You're going to be at the core of our development team. You'll mainly be coding in Node.js. You'll be doing a little bit of everything from writing backend code that communicates with other internal services, to working with APIs, to writing code that controls EC2 instances and so on.

Requirements :

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and functional programming  and design concepts like - dependency injection, abstract classes, interfaces, data, providers, factories, middlewares, interceptors, orm
• Strong understanding of database architecture and design principles MySQL, mongo-DB. Understanding of MongoDB’s aggregation framework is a bonus.
• Excellent knowledge of Node.js frameworks (NestJs preferred) and experience in integrating libraries, authentication, queues, jobs, logger services. Past experience in working on multi-tenant SAAS product is a bonus.
• Experience with AWS, Architecture Design, and Web development.
