Editorial decides what gets published. You make sure the organisation runs so it happens on time, every day.

What you do

• Run day to day operations across the org, so every team has what it needs to work without friction
• Plan shift rosters, manage leaves and attendance, and arrange backup when someone does not turn up
• Onboard new joinees across teams, get their systems, access, and paperwork ready from day one
• Keep track of how many stories are in progress and how many are done, and flag to the senior editor early if the day is running short
• Check in on the night desk through the night to confirm the shift is staffed and on schedule
• Run the morning handover so the day team knows what got published and what is pending

What you need

• 2 to 4 years in operations, production coordination, or office and admin management
• Has done this at an early stage company or a newsroom, where the job has no fixed boundaries
• Available for night checks, with the bulk of the role in regular hours
• Good with people, able to follow up firmly without being difficult
• Organised, reliable, and calm when things go wrong

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience, with 3+ years focused on Shopify.
• Strong proficiency in Liquid templating language and Shopify’s theme architecture.
• Experience with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL) and building private or public apps.
• Strong frontend development skills: HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+), and React or Vue.js.
• Deep understanding of Shopify's checkout process, cart mechanics, and store configuration.
• Experience working with Shopify Plus features like checkout.liquid, multi-store setup, and scripts.
• Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development workflows.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects from concept to completion.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Headless Shopify implementations using Hydrogen or Next.js.
• Familiarity with Shopify Functions, custom checkout extensibility, and Shopify’s new App Bridge.
• Prior experience working with international stores, multiple currencies, and languages.
• Understanding of backend systems (Node.js, PHP, or Ruby) for custom app integrations.
• Contributions to the Shopify developer community or open-source projects.

• Demonstrated experience as a software engineer, with at least 8+ years’ experience in technology roles
• Experience working on complex systems and cloud architectures, preferably in a B2B or enterprise context
• Significant experience with the Java programming language and frameworks such as Spring & SpringBoot
• Good working experience with front-end Javascript frameworks such as ReactJS
