Assignment Details

Our client, a global leader in energy management and automation, is seeking a skilled and experienced Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in developing automation frameworks for Windows and Web applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Python and Robot Framework, and a solid background in software development, debugging, and unit testing. This role requires the ability to work independently, contribute to the entire testing lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust Test Automation Frameworks for both Windows and Web applications.
• Implement automated test cases using Python and Robot Framework.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand feature requirements and break them down into actionable tasks.
• Use version control and issue tracking tools like TFS/ADO, GitHub, Jira, SVN, etc.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging of automation scripts.
• Clearly document and report test results, defects, and automation progress.
• Maintain and enhance existing test automation suites to support continuous delivery pipelines.

Skills Required

• 5–10 years of professional experience in Test Automation and Software Development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Robot Framework.
• Solid experience with Windows and Web application testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as TFS, GitHub, SVN and project tracking tools like Jira.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering or computer science or any equivalent degree

Experience : 3–6-year experience.

Skills Required :

• 3 years of experience on QT development & C++
• Proficiency in coding with best practices while developing code in QT and C++
• Proficiency in programming user interfaces and data visualization with the QT Framework
• Must have experience on object-oriented analysis and design OOPs, Design patterns, Data structures,algorithms, etc.

• Experience with QT, VTK, OpenCV, etc preferred.

•Experience in Windows/Desktop applications is preferred.

•Experience working with Waterfall / Agile development technologies.

•Experience creating and maintaining databases.

•Knowledge of system frameworks including .NET, Git, and GitHub.

•Knowledge of the software development life-cycle.

•Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

•Good interpersonal skills.

What you will be working on: 

• Key contributor for developing product strategies and features. 
• Software development for industries leading SaaS platform 
• You will be involved closely in planning, designing, integration of client requirements. 

• You will be working with one of the leaders in data resiliency and data protection. 

Here are some technical skills require:  

• Independently own features and create feature test plans/strategies based on development and feature completion milestones.   
• Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement.   

• Design automation framework for automating feature tests.   
• Participate in test cases, test plans, s and code reviews.  
• Resolve functional queries coming from other business units such as support, escalation, product management, etc.   
• Participate in bug trailing, tracking quality assurance metrics.  
• Hands-on experience with Python-Selenium or Cypress, will be preferred.   

• Familiarity with Test Management systems like XRay and bug tracker like JIRA tools.

• 3-10 Years of relevant experience in QA Automation.   
• Expert at test automation, creating test plans, test strategies for testing multiple product modules   

• Should be able to quickly analyze failures and trace back to issues in the product or the automation suite.  
• As a Software Development Engineer in Test you should be an expert at test automation for APIs as well as UI, creating test plans and test strategies for testing product features.  
• You will guide and mentor junior team members by reviewing their automation code and test cases to ensure good coverage and quality of a feature  
• Resolve functional queries coming from other business units such as support, escalation, product management, etc.  
• Be a quick learner and be open to working on new technologies if needed.    

• Excellent team player with strong verbal & written communication skills.    
• Be able to step up when the situation demands such as meeting deadlines and critical production issues.    
• Propose changes or enhancements to the framework for enabling new feature tests.

• Working knowledge of Dockers and Kubernetes will be an advantage   
• Awareness of general manual and automation concepts and all types of testing methods  
• Knowledge of the Backup or Storage domain will be an advantage.

• Worked as a Node.js developer on multiple projects with relevant experience between 1 to 4+ Years.
• Extensive knowledge of Nodejs, JavaScript, APIs, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks.
• Able to work on independent nodejs projects.
• Experience in mongoDB database queries. Able to write and manage complex DB queries .

What will I be doing? 👩‍💻👨‍💻

Leading parts of the product from inception to launch, and own large parts of the product’s execution.
Working with our Sales and frontend team to build products with the goal of delighting and increasing the success of our users.
Architecting, building, testing, and releasing product-facing features.
Contributing to our side projects and free tools for the education industry.

What do I need? 🤓

1-2 years of industry experience in a software engineering role, preferably building a SaaS product. You can demonstrate significant impact that your work has had on the product and/or the team.
Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (for example, PHP, Python, etc.) but it doesn’t need to be a language that we use here! Great people are effective and learn what we use quickly (or introduce us to better ways of working)
Deep knowledge of SQL Databases
Experience with scalable distributed systems, both built from scratch as well as on AWS primitives
Willingness to learn and use new technologies
Extremely data-driven
Ability to debug complex systems

Brownie points 🍰

Using a framework (for example, Laravel, Code Igniter, Django)
Understanding of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) along with ability to deploy to AWS ECS (or similar tools)
