Software Development Engineer III - Back End

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You'll work closely with our team to implement best practices, improve our architecture, and create a high-performance engineering culture. Over a 6–9-month period, you'll also immerse yourself in game development, Unity, and C# to become a well-rounded technical leader in the gaming space.

• Drive maximum development velocity through direct involvement in development sprints, ensuring developers work as efficiently and effectively as possible.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive architectural decisions that ensure scalable, maintainable, and high-performance game products.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture aligned with ambitious goals, accountability, and proactive problem-solving.
• Implement and enforce engineering best practices (e.g., code reviews, testing, documentation) and the adoption of new tools, technologies including AI, and methodologies to optimize team efficiency.
• Transition our team to a high-performance culture aligned with our ambitious, venture-backed goals.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role
• Ability to reasonably estimate and plan tasks and features.
• Strong programming fundamentals and hands-on coding abilities
• Strong grasp of software architecture, TDD, code reviews, and clean coding principles.
• Proficient at profiling games to identify bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Experience building complex, scalable software systems
• Proven track record of driving architectural decisions and technical excellence
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Requirements:

• B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with a minimum of 4 – 6 years of experience in a Product Development Company
• Sound knowledge and application of algorithms and data structures with space and me complexities
• Strong design skills involving data modeling and low-level class design
• Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and Golang
• Follow industry coding standards and be responsible for writing maintainable/scalable/efficient code to solve business problems
• Hands-on experience of working with Databases and the Linux/Unix platform
• Follow SDLC in an agile environment and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to drive deliveries
• Strong technical aptitude and good knowledge of CS fundamentals

Key Responsibilities:

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS.
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture.
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible.
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability.
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required:

• At least 2.5 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds.
• Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database.
• Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database.
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases.
• Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j.
• Experience developing and deploying REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks.
• Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks.
• Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications.
• Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms.
• Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences.
• Experience building a large-scale social or location-based app.

 2+ years experience as a developer with a proven track record in on-time and successful deliveries.

- Must be highly proficient in NodeJS, Javascript and MySQL with Microservices (REST web services )

- Work end to end on micro-services and SPAs built on cutting-edge technologies like Nodejs (Strong practical experience preferred)

- Strong knowledge of database & web applications.

- Preferred : grunt, wagner, npm, passport, redix, chai

- Excellent problem solving and communication skills, so that you are able to articulate technical concepts to the team, also excellent development, and debugging skills

- Ability to learn, act, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a distributed team

Duties & Responsibilities :

- Should be taking requirements to design and building reusable modules.

- Building, scaling and performance tuning.

- Advance understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5 and CSS3.

- Advance understanding in AWS, NPM (Node JS Package Manager), GIT and Unit testing.

- Strong work experience in Design Patterns and Algorithms.

- Experience with debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving issues.

- Must have strong communication skills.

• Coding and creating functional web applications and optimizing code for increasing response time and efficiency.
• Coordinating with front-end developers and providing server-side algorithms of user-facing web application elements.
• Analyzing the goals and requirements, handling bugs and errors and providing solutions for the same.
• Interacting with the database for storing data and ensuring that every user has access to what they search.

• Accomplishing the projects and goals within the deadline.
• Managing APIs that are executed across the devices.
• Participating in defining the architecture of the system.

Required skills

• Proven knowledge of front-end technologies, such as Angular, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will be preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of PHP and related frameworks. Knowledge of Ruby, Python, NodeJs, and Java will be an added advantage.
• Good Communication, Analytical, Logical, and Leadership skills.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will be preferred.
• Ability to manage a hosting environment along with database administration such as MySQL, Oracle.
• Excellent knowledge of APIs (REST, SOAP) and Web services.

We are looking for Tech Leads working with our Application Engineering team, designing, and developing a variety of applications. More specifically, you will:

• Determine the functional, non-functional requirements and scope working with the business analysts and engineering managers
• Design and develop multi-tier, cloud-native, high performance, and scalable solutions
• Apply software engineering principles, design patterns and best practices to build solutions that are testable, secure, and robust
• Lead cross functional agile teams across the software development lifecycle
• Evaluate design alternatives using proof of concepts and collaborate with architects to choose optimal solutions
• Performing design and code reviews
• Collaborate with project/program managers to estimate, plan, and mitigate technical risks at module/project level
• Mentor and groom developers to deliver high quality solutions
