What you will do

We are currently seeking experienced and talented reporters for our ferrous scrap, non-ferrous scrap, and steel markets to join our growing editorial team. The ideal candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in a direct or transferable area of expertise. As a Reporter/Editor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our commitment to delivering accurate and comprehensive market intelligence to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing and Reporting: Generate insightful and engaging content by reporting on the ferrous and non-ferrous markets, providing in-depth analysis, market reports, and commentary as assigned.
• Price Sourcing and Indexing: Contribute to the creation of proprietary price indexes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date pricing information. Write weekly or daily commentaries on pricing trends.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research into market trends and dynamics, delivering market reports that provide valuable insights to our readers.
• Adherence to Best Practices: Follow the Davis Index style guide and adhere to industry best practices in reporting and price sourcing.
• Industry Involvement: Attend industry conferences and events, enhancing your understanding of market dynamics for more informed reporting. 

Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

• A Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Fluent understanding of market economics and proficiency in business reporting style.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a reporter or writer in a print or online publication, or a demonstrated ability to transfer professional knowledge and experience.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-oriented work environment.
• Proficiency in English and, ideally, additional languages relevant to the regions we serve.
• A deep curiosity about the metals markets.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
• Initiative, commitment to excellence, and a desire to grow professionally.

Good to Have: 

• Knowledge of the metals market.
• Experience writing financial and business reports.

Responsibilities:

Skills & Qualifications

 2 years of experience in software development preferably B2C experience.

 Experience in React native, Javascript.

 Experience with popular React workflows (such as Flux or Redux).

 Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript (ES6 & ES5 ).

 Familiarity with RESTful APIs.

 Experience in working with the MERN stack or similar frameworks

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain web applications using the CodeIgniter framework.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during development or in existing applications.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve problems.

• Participate in code review sessions to ensure that code meets quality standards.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Minimum 1 years of experience in PHP development.

• Strong knowledge of the CodeIgniter framework.

• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, PHPUnit, and Composer.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment using Scrum/Kanban.

• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Good understanding of web standards and protocols.

The sales associate will utilize their skills to generate high-quality leads, build strong relationships with customers, and close deals. The ideal candidate has skills and demonstrates the ability to showcase our offerings compellingly. 

Job Location: Work from home

Selection process: HR Round followed by group discussion and sales manager round.
