Domain: Automation Testing – Selenium Job Purpose • Thought leadership - Consult with the client and setup/guides a team to strategize, design, implement and run automation solution supporting variety of applications • Technical leadership - Identify, evaluate, recommend, and optimize current automated testing processes and tools • Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework, and approach across project teams • Oversee technological delivery of the recommended automation solution roadmap across project teams • setting up end to end QA processes across Requirement Analysis,Test Strategy/Design and Test reporting • Participate in design and architectural reviews of proposed automation solutions across project teams • Designing & implementing enterprise wide QA strategy for variety of clients including complex applications across multiple tech stacks (involving both functional and automation testing) • Planning, estimating (should be aware of robust models and how to use them) and tracking team’s work • Status reporting: Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status etc. • Mentors/guides the team on technical knowhow • Adhere to company project standards and guidelines Mandatory Skills & Experience • 10-14 years of overall testing experience and atleast 4+ years of in-depth experience in establishing test automation frameworks, evaluating tools, and implementing continuous testing strategy • Hands on framework development for a Green Field Project • Strong hands on experience in Java/JavaScript programming languages; java collection frameworks • Strong experience on QA Automation tools such as Selenium/Cucumber/Appium/SOAPUIetc. • Strong exposure on UI or API automation, hands on Webservices/Microservices automation • Experience in CI/CD tools, such as Gitlab(preferable) / Jenkins • Experience in Cloud tech preferably AWS • Experience on Cloud Platforms such as Sauce Labs, Perfecto • Functional tools like Selenium (mandate), Webdriver IO, NightWatchJS, etc • Should have basic knowledge of JMeter or any other equivalent Performance testing tool • Sound Knowledge of methodologies and approaches such as Agile, BDD, DevOps etc. • Industry experience on Financial Services is preferred. We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer with a natural flair for solving complex problems and making life easier for others. You'd be a part of our dynamic QA team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:

• Owning the quality of any deliverables including new features and enhancements
• Working closely with the product team in understanding the requirements and user workflow
• Writing highly efficient manual test cases and performing functional, ad-hoc and regression testing

• Raising defects/bugs and tracking them till closure

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/IT/computer science or related field
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in software testing

• Experience in using a defect tracking system to report, track and resolve defects
• Good understanding of the Agile software development methodology (Kanban or Scrum)

To be a Senior Automation Engineer in JFrog you need…

• 5+ years experience in automation development in OO language
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Shippable, TravisCI or similar
• Deep understanding in Docker
• Experience in writing automation tests for applications in Linux/Unix environments
• Bug detection abilities and good analysis to root cause detection
• Analytical approach for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Self-learner and independent executor

Mandatory Skills

• Hands on experience with the programming language Java. (Mandatory)
• 3+ years of experience in leading a team, with professional automation testing experience using Java and Selenium.
• 5+ years of experience in automation testing and test framework development using Java and Selenium. (POM, Cucumber BDD, Hybrid etc.)
• Automation Tool: Selenium (Mandatory)
• Execution of scripts in Batch and Grid 
• Setup test automation pipelines in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS, and Azure DevOps etc.
• Flexibility to learn new programming languages, tools & frameworks.

Other Pre-Requisites

• Shall work as an individual contributor on a need basis.
• Should contribute to defining testing best practices for the teams & projects. Responsible for defining and implementing the test strategy and test automation solutions around functional and regression testing.
• Defining, monitoring, and evaluating individual goals/KRA’s for the team members.
• Responsible for project initiation, project planning, effort estimations, hiring and team building for new projects.
• Experience with Test Management tools like Atlassian JIRA, TestRail, ALM or similar tools.
• Passion for achieving excellence in technical, process, product quality and reliability.
• Strong in troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities
• Must be extremely detail, technology oriented and possess excellent communications skills.
• Proactive, driven individual with a strong work ethics

Secondary Skills:

• BDD Cucumber will be an added advantage
• Parallel execution and integration to cloud platforms like BrowserStack, Perfecto, Saucelabs.

• SQL queries: good hands-on on SQL queries and experience in testing Databases & Batch Jobs

• You will develop a deep understanding of the technology stack, network traffic concepts and terminology.
• You will have developed a strong understanding and strategy for the independent nature of our testing needs.
• You will apply that strategy to design and start building an initial framework with reporting.
• You will commit multiple high-value automated tests and start the process of addressing CI failures.

In your first 6 months: Mastery

• You will contribute to design discussions and participate in code reviews. 
• You will continuously learn and expand the automation testing framework. 
• You will contribute to improving functional API documentation. 
• You will take ownership of test failures to ensure our CI system stays reliable.
• You will mentor and coordinate work with other SDETs
• You will start to explore performance and other testing areas of testing needs.

Bonus if you have:

• Knowledge of IP traffic concepts and terminology
• Experience with VoIP, Telecommunication Systems, and Communication technologies
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker or Kubernetes 
• Build automation that developers can use locally.

• Minimum 3+ years of API test automation experience

• Strong Programming experience on Java using OOPs, collections, exception handling, and strong debugging skills

• Strong testing and test design skills like scenario identification, test case identification, defect identification with a focus on test coverage

• Strong experience in testing of API / webservices

• Excellent experience and skill in the development of API test automation suites using Rest Assured
