QA Engineer

Review Criteria:

Mandatory:

• Strong UAT / Functional Test Lead Profiles
• Must have minimum 7 years of overall testing experience, with at least 3 years of recent UAT experience, primarily in manual testing for large enterprise or government project
• Must have worked on minimum 2 national-level e-Governance, public sector, enterprise, or marketplace projects in a UAT lead or ownership role
• Must have 3+ years of team handling experience, leading 7–8 QA/UAT members, including task assignment, review, mentoring, and delivery ownership
• Must have complete ownership of UAT activities, including UAT planning, execution, acceptance sign-off, defect management, retesting, and regression cycles.
• Must have strong hands-on manual testing experience, with the ability to create test scenarios and test cases from BRDs, user stories, functional documents, and Figma/UI screens.
• Must be able to understand HLD/LLD documents and API specifications and perform manual API testing based on business logic.
• Must have BE/BTech/MTech/MBA (BSc/BCA alone is not acceptable; with Bsc/BCA candidates must have a relevant postgraduate degree MCA/MTech)

Preferred:

• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent is preferred

Ideal Candidate:

• 8 + years’ experience in UAT, with at least 2 National-level e-Governance solutions / Enterprise platforms / Marketplace projects.
• Proficiency in test planning, execution oversight, acceptance criteria definition, defect triage, regression cycle management.
• Proficient in understanding business requirements by going through BRDs, User Stories, Figma screens to define test scenarios and test cases.
• Ability to analyze high level and low-level design documents, API specifications to identify the business logic developed and create test cases to test the APIs.
• Hands-on experience of defining high quality test scenarios, test cases with ability to review and guide the test team members in doing the same.
• Education/Certifications: B.E./ B.Tech. / MTech/ MCA/ MS (Computer Science/IT)/ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Perform API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data and ensure database integrity.
• Identify, report, and track defects; collaborate with developers for quick resolution.
• Review and analyze system specifications and requirements for creating effective test plans.
• Conduct regression, functional, integration, and system testing as part of release cycles.
• Document and maintain detailed test results, defect logs, and reports.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing for web and mobile platforms.
• Solid experience in API Testing (REST / SOAP).
• Handson writing complex SQL queries.
• Strong knowledge and practical SQL skills for database validation.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Basic understanding of automation tools or frameworks (optional).
• Experience with JIRA or other bug tracking tools.

Dukaan is looking at a QA engineer to join our team and help us ship polished & defect free products to our users. 

QA Engineer Roles & Responsibilities 

Your primary responsibility will be to run various tests from the test-suite on new software releases to ensure that it satisfies all specifications and requirements as well as free from any bugs. 

Once issues have been resolved, You will run additional tests to make sure the issues are resolved before the new release is pushed to production. 

1. Thoroughly testing new releases to find bugs or design issues. 
2. Identifying bugs in new releases and understanding how to resolve them
3. Creating issues for these bugs and with steps on how to re-produce them.
4. Ensuring that new software products are ready for consumer use
5. Working with development teams to prevent issues with new products

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience of 5+ years working as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• Experience with test management tools such as Quality Centre, JIRA, ADO.
• Knowledge of automation tools like Selenium
• Knowledge of Non-Functional testing - Accessibility, Performance
• Educated to degree level, ideally in Computer Science
• ISEB certification in Testing (intermediate level) is advantageous
• Experience in participating in process change is advantageous
• Experience testing commercial websites in a creative and/or agency environment is advantageous
• Experience testing native iOS and Android applications is advantageous
