QA Engineer

Hyvikk Solutions is looking for a dedicated QA Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring the quality of our software products by conducting thorough manual testing and collaborating with developers to resolve issues.

Note: We are hiring only local candidates from Bhavnagar.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Execute manual testing for web and mobile applications to identify bugs and inconsistencies.
• Document test results and report defects with detailed steps for reproduction.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of bugs.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and usability testing.
• Ensure that the software meets user expectations and industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a QA Tester or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in documenting test cases, test results, and bug reports.
• Familiarity with bug-tracking tools like JIRA or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic SQL queries for database testing.
• Experience in testing Web applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.

The test Engineer will assess software quality through manual and automated testing. He/She will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. Ultimately, he/she will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly when implemented.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system specifications

About the Role

Role is a remote role currently but will be Hybrid role later this year - work from our Hyderabad office.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be part of a highly collaborative team where you will work closely with engineers, product managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and leadership.

• You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality. You will work closely with PODs, taking full ownership of the QA process within your given POD, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvements.
• In this hands-on role, you will be actively involved in both test strategy and execution, ensuring that our app meets the highest performance and reliability standards. Your focus will also be on laying the groundwork for long-term scalability, making sure our testing processes evolve as the product grows.
• Collaboration is key—you will work alongside stakeholders and development leads to streamline workflows, optimize testing frameworks, and drive innovation in QA practices. You will also identify gaps in existing QA processes, propose strategic changes, and implement improvements to elevate product quality across the board.

You will be responsible for monitoring the software development life cycle to ensure quality. This includes but is not limited to developing test cases, optimizing test execution, and reporting application defects. This role is expected to help increase test throughput and product delivery by improving test coverage in a shorter amount of time.

• Define & implement test strategy within the respective POD's to drive results.
• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test strategies for SaaS-based products.
• Set up and maintain end-to-end testing frameworks to ensure high product quality.
• Perform manual testing for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Ensure test coverage for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Define and implement best practices for quality assurance and testing in a startup environment.
• Analyse testing results and work proactively to improve product stability and performance.
• Contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement & deployment
• Handle the sole responsibility of the quality emerging from the different POD’s and working closely with the automation QA to derive results.

Required Skills

Experience as a Sr. QA

• 5+ years of experience in software testing with a strong understanding of QA methodologies.
• Strong working experience in Manual Testing, Regression Testing, Database, API Testing.
• Experience working in agile, fast-paced startup environments.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Product/Dev/QA) to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle on assigned projects to assist in implementation tasks.
• Take ownership of features and enhancements from discovery to closure.
• Develop effective strategies and test plans for quality assurance.
• Experience with CI/CD & software development process with continuous deployment expertise
• Understanding of Web fundamentals (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Server Side Programming and Database)
• ITQB is a plus

Domain Expertise

• Experience in the POS domain, Fintech, or Payments industry is preferred.
• Past experience in testing handheld embedded devices, iOS/Android Apps, and restaurant POS systems is a plus.

Requirements:

• As a Senior Software Test Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to test/qualify new products and enhancements to existing products as part of a cross functional team. You are required to verify and validate software changes for new products, enhancements and defects.
• Responsible for verifying that the software complies with the requirements and that the various customer use-cases can be satisfactorily met by the software.
• Work very closely with the project/baseline manager and development team to understand the architecture and design of the system and the interaction between various software sub-systems and components.
• Prepare and execute test plans for software releases, document and automate test cases to exercise the various features and capabilities of the software, identify and capture bugs and related information in the bug tracking database.
• Develop higher complexity test cases, test suite selection and execute all necessary testing activity required for a customer software release (negative and backward compatibility scenarios) per assignment, group objectives and product requirements.
• Document, enhance and maintain regression test procedures over the lifecycle of the software.
• Execute the software release test plans and certify that a software release has met the quality criterion(s) for various phase exits (pre-alpha, alpha, beta).
• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
• Independently manage schedule for his/her projects and deliverables, seamlessly works with all key stakeholders to ensure delivery is never on the critical path
• Consistently look out for areas of improvement in all areas of software product development and processes, champions implementation of identified best practices

• Strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology
• Prior experience in supervisory control systems software would be a plus (but not mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of software test methodologies, tools, standards and processes.
• Good hands on programing experience in any of the scripting/programming languages (C++, C#, Java Script)
• Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience of working in global teams and interfacing with multiple stake holders

1. Must possess strong hands-on testing experience of e-commerce Applications and e-commerce platforms, preferably Magento, and Drupal.
2. Sound Knowledge of test automation frameworks including designing, maintaining & improving Knowledge of Zephyr, Behat, and BackstopJS QA tools.
3. Detailed knowledge of cross-platform testing and environments.
4. Well-versed in Defect Tracking & Reporting
5. Writing test scenarios and robust functional test cases based on the use case and requirements
6. Solving complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
7. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.
8. Should have strong Analytical and Logical abilities.
9. Good to Have Skills: Experience in Agile Scrum methodology or CSTE/CS QA/ISTQB certification
