Product Designer
Bon Appétit and Epicurious are seeking a Product Designer to design and launch new native mobile apps to help home cooks find the perfect recipe.
In this role, you’ll create and iterate on features that define and enrich the experience of Bon Appetit & Epicurious readers on its mobile platforms. You’ll introduce our readers and subscribers to our incredible range of recipes and guides and work out the way we allow users to find the perfect recipe.
As a member of the Product Design team, you will partner closely with UX writers and researchers, as well as cross-functional product, engineering, marketing, and editorial teams, to solve complex problems while exploring new approaches that delight existing readers and grow our subscription business. As the brands create digital experiences focussed on enabling users to find the perfect recipe you will help us create products that delight and inspire readers and communicate the established voice of the brands.
This role will report to Bon Appétit and Epicurious’s Product Design Lead, who oversees the user experience across all of our digital products, and will coördinate with the Mobile team based in India, as well as the Art and Interactive departments within editorial and the global Condé Nast Product Design team.
What you’ll do
You will focus on creating thoughtful design improvements to how we help users log into our products and manage accounts.

A portfolio of thoughtful work encompassing user experience and visual design and demonstrating holistic thinking

Solid product design execution skills; experience launching real mobile and web products a plus

Product Designer ; About the role
You can demonstrate a solid understanding of the fundamentals of product design - customer understanding, funnel metrics, translating qualitative and quantitative understanding into actionable insights, understanding of tech and infra constraints (for Web and Mobile), ability to conceptualise solutions within tight constraints (time & tech), track performance of the product once live and iterate. You are driven by a desire to think through problems deeply and solve them well - you understand that UI is only a layer, not a solution.
You have great taste for good design and know how to translate taste into outcomes. You take pride in your attention to detail and strive for perfection from concept to product. You have experience creating web & mobile apps/products with end to end ownership - you know, intimately, the working differences between web standards, PWAs on mobile, Material Design on Android and iOS design guidelines.
You have worked in dynamic, collaborative environments and worked alongside product managers and engineers. You are articulate and can clearly rationalise
