THE ROLE

A Full Time position as a Senior Software Engineer joining us in building and scaling our Pilot product for Sustainability Teams in mid-size & large consumer good companies to manage the Sustainability Strategy in the most financially responsible way.

You will add a deeper analysis layer to the product, allowing users to calculate the sustainability and business impact of different interventions and forecast this out into the future. The integrated product will unify cross-functional teams in the consumer goods industry and empower them to take action on the most important climate projects and optimise financial and commercial outcomes.

You will shape the modeling, the visualisations and collaboration features along with making key decisions in the technical architecture going forward.

Responsibilities

• Enhancing the core product to provide customers with deeper insights through advanced data analysis and visualization capabilities.
• Designing and implementing components and pages in Next.JS using typescript, tailwindui and tailwindcss.
• Building and enhancing database models for sustainability impacts in the agriculture space to help users quantify and understand the impacts of land use change, fertilizers, etc.
• Creating performant REST apis in Next.JS using typescript and prisma for the backend.
• Managing the project in an agile fashion in JIRA through weekly sprints.
• Collaborating with our cross-functional team to realize the company's vision and product roadmap.
• Addressing user feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
• Documenting all additions to components, APIs or libraries.
• Ensuring best practices for maintainability, scalability, and security.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of experience in Full Stack Software Engineering
• Expertise in React, TypeScript and REST APIs.
• Solid experience with relational databases (like PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
• Solid experience with serverless architecture (Vercel or others)
• Experience with Jest unit tests and integration testing for web applications.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Passion for sustainability, business impact and a belief in our mission.
• Must be able to overlap for 5 hours between 7am GMT to 2 pm GMT

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Experience with Next.JS
• Experience with prisma and recharts.
• Experience with OAuth for SSO integration
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

• Remote work/flexible hours, but need to be available between 7am - 2pm UK time

Must have:

Experience working with Programming languages. Solid foundational and conceptual knowledge is expected.

Experience working with Databases and SQL optimizations

Experience as a team lead or a tech lead and is able to independently drive tech decisions and execution and motivate the team in ambiguous problem spaces.

• Collaborate with digital product managers, and leaders from other team to refine the strategic needs of the project
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Defining best practices for data validation and automating as much as possible; aligning with the enterprise standards

Qualifications -

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong experience with data warehousing and data lake technologies (Snowflake)
• Expertise in data modelling
• Experience with ETL/LT tools and methodologies
• Experience working on real-time Data Streaming and Data Streaming platforms
• 2+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
• 2+ years working with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling and data management
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
