NodeJS Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for live products.
• Build and implement RESTful APIs for seamless communication between systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with databases (SQL or NoSQL) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize backend systems for better performance and scalability.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and work with Ruby, as it is the primary language used.

Requirements:

• Mandatory:
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs.
• Experience working on live products.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with backend-heavy development or full-stack development with a backend focus.
• Proficiency in any backend programming language (e.g., Ruby, RoR, Python, Java, Node.js).
• Willingness to learn Ruby if not already experienced.

Additional Information:

• Candidates must have hands-on experience with live, production-ready products.
• We are open to candidates with expertise in any backend language but prefer those who can quickly adapt to Ruby.

• 5 years experience with the Django framework
• Experience with building APIs (REST or GraphQL) 
• Strong Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• React.js knowledge would be an added bonus 
• Understanding on how to use a database like Postgres (prefered choice), SQLite, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis.
• A strong passion for writing simple, clean and efficient code.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git.

Experience:

• Min 5 year experience
• Startup experience is a must. 

Location:

• Remote developer

Timings:

• 40 hours a week but with 4 hours a day overlapping with client timezone.  Typically clients are in California PST Timezone.

• Ensure cross-platform compatibility of information retrieved from web services on
• Android and iOS platforms, in terms of Push Notifications, platform-specific issues, etc.
• Implementation of SSL security to all web services, logins, and API calls
• Familiar with XMPP would be a plus point.
