Backend Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Node Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain the server-

side logic for our next-generation healthcare platform. You will work closely with cross-

functional teams to build high-performance, scalable, and secure applications that power

seamless experiences for hospitals, insurers, and healthcare professionals. The ideal

candidate has strong Node.js and Express expertise and can contribute to the

development of robust backend systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

Backend Development & API Design

• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express

• Develop microservices architecture for scalable and maintainable backend systems

• Optimize database queries and enhance performance of existing systems

• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns

System Integration & Database Management

• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Integrate with third-party services and APIs (hospital systems, insurance platforms)

• Implement caching mechanisms and message queues for improved performance

• Design and manage database schemas, migrations, and data models

Security & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to healthcare security standards (HIPAA, GDPR, ABDM, etc.)

• Implement authentication, authorization, and data encryption mechanisms

• Follow secure coding practices and conduct code security reviews

• Address security vulnerabilities and implement fixes

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

• Document APIs, services, and system architecture

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js

• Strong proficiency with Express.js framework and RESTful API design

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker)

• Understanding of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflows

• Strong problem-solving abilities and debugging skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML integration in backend systems

• Familiarity with healthcare or insurance industry applications

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)

• Understanding of event-driven architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Job description

The .NET Lead/Arch position will be responsible for architecture, development, maintenance, and support of all development applications regardless of size. This individual must maintain effective customer relationships; as well as effective communication and coordination with various other technology groups. The Senior Architect is expected to be able to architect, analyze, design, code, test, and implement large projects and troubleshoot any Enterprise Development production system. This position is also expected to have the ability to do cross-discipline work with networks, servers, and infrastructure and be able to understand how they affect development projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:·

Analyze new requirements and provide impact analysis addressing technical design and identifying individual tasks
· Architect, design and implement solutions for requirements.
· Setting up CI/CD pipelines and Continuous integration & delivery of the application to Dev/Test/PROD environments.
· Design and coding of new facilities.
· Communication of technical details that impact the fulfillment of requirements.
· Iterative development of software with responsiveness to constructive feedback.
· Provide application support against agreed service levels including the implementation of bug fixes
· Develop and maintain code to a high standard within IT development and maintenance projects.
· Troubleshoot and problem-solve support issues as they arise and as directed by the project manager and technical architect.
· Code reviews of the work of peers in the group.
· Perform unit testing of work.
· Write documentation and comment code as required.
· Ensure code is properly version-controlled.
· Supervise and mentor junior staff

Your Responsibilities:

• Own the backend stack – Node.Js based, that powers our product
• Collaborate with Backend Developers (Python), Front-end developers, DevOps, and Data Scientists to design and implement new features
• Build and maintain several REST’ful Services/Endpoints which will be used both internally and externally in a Macroservices/Distributed services environment.
• Deploy and monitor the Services/Endpoints ensuring availability and scalability(ability to handle 100X traffic)
• Work on full project lifecycle starting from requirements gathering/understanding the problem to deploying and maintaining the project.

• A minimum 8+ years of extensive work experience with Node.Js and related frameworks – particularly Express.Js.
• Extensive experience in designing and maintaining REST’ful API endpoints
• Extensive experience with databases such as Postgres and Mongo.
• Extensive experience in Cloud Infrastructure (AWS based) – e.g. AWS API Gateway, Lambda Functions etc.
• Experience with cache like Redis and/or Memory cache
• Good experience in Microservices/Macroservices or Event driven Architectures
• Good experience with design patterns
• Experience in writing advanced SQL-queries, good knowledge of PL/SQL
• Good understanding of Software Design Principles and domain-driven design
• Good experience with Continuous Delivery and Containerization(Docker)
• Ideally maintaining infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
