What You'll Do

•  Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript.

What We're Looking For

•  4–6 years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript(6 months atleast).
•  Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
•  Experience working in fast-paced, scalable product environments.
•  Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
•  Prior experience in a high-growth startup or scalable business is a strong plus.
•  Bonus if you come from an IIT or Tier1 engineering background.

Responsibilities: 

As a backend developer you would be responsible for:   

• Executing full lifecycle software development
• Architect and conceptualise the solution from initiation to completion meeting client requirements 
• Work with customer and their integration partners to ensure the product is well integrated 
• Programming well-designed, testable and efficient code 
• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions 
• Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering and ML team) to craft custom solutions 
• Ensure clients change requests are addressed effectively in a timely manner 

Requirements:  

• 2+ years of experience in architecture and developing high performance web applications
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
• Strong NoSQL and/or SQL database design and query writing skills with a commitment to performance and efficiency 
• Knowledge of RESTful API and SOAP Webservices paradigms 
• Experience with CRM/ERPs like systems SAP, Oracle, SalesForce, Servicenow, Workday, etc. would be a huge plus 
• Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment 
• Superior verbal and written communication skills

Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript & OOPS

• Knowledge of AWS will be preferable

• B.Tech/B.E (preferably in Computer Science Engineering) 
• 7+ years of hands-on programming experience in building data-driven REST APIs, services & platforms using advanced Java frameworks like Spring, Redis, Node.js etc. with deep focus on integration & scale.
• We also look for hands-on experience with Mysql, Elasticsearch (or Solr) and Nosql stores.
• Our evaluation starts with focus on computer science fundamentals, data structures & algorithms.
• You will have been learning new technologies every week and prefer folks who can use golang/rust for backend development and are familiar with equivalent data stores, index stores and pub-sub technologies.

We’re looking for a Ruby on Rails Software Engineer/Shopify App Developer who has experience working with the Shopify platform and is able to work on a Shopify app.

Your Daily Challenges

When we welcome you aboard we’ll introduce you to your Team, which consists of a front-end developer, a Shopify App Marketer who grew 2 apps to million dollar annual revenue, and a product manager.

These are the people you’ll work closely with on Product development day-to-day. Once you get settled in and learn more about the team, your day to day activities will look something like this:

1. Own the end-to-end development cycle for the Shopify app you’ll be working on.
2. Coordinate with fellow developers to get things done on time. 
3. Implement high quality code in an agile, test driven development environment
4. Review exception reports to identify and fix bugs
5. Development of new apps and features
6. Maintenance of existing features
7. Collaboration with cross-functional teams
8. Contributions of ideas to improve the product

Your Experience

1. 3-5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails
2. Experience with Shopify app development
3. Familiar with Sidekiq, PostgreSQL
4. Good understanding of HTML and CSS (positioning and styling)
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Takes pride in writing clean, organized, efficient code
7. An eye for detail
8. Experience with vanilla JavaScript and React a plus
9. Experience working in an entrepreneurial/startup environment

Your Compensation

1. The compensation range for this role is INR 14-18 LPA (~25K USD) + up to 5% equity.
2. The compensation varies with experience and qualifications. 
3. This is a full-time remote/work from home position.
