Summary of Position
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator with a strong background in network administration, AI, and IT security to join our IT team in Chennai. This role is critical in managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, and implementing AI strategies to enhance IT security. The ideal candidate will have experience with Fortinet firewalls, Google Workspace, Apple MacOS, and JAMF, along with excellent communication skills. This role supports an Apple-only workstation environment and requires close coordination with the Security Operations Team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Workstation Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain all employees' Apple MacBooks, ensuring they are in good physical condition and up-to-date with OS and application patches.
- Ensure workstations are equipped with EDR/AV software and comply with corporate policies.
- Manage software patching and updates for all devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve workstation-related issues.
- Manage workstations with MDM policies and profiles.
- Install, uninstall, and upgrade OS and applications as needed.
Network Management:
- Manage and maintain Fortinet firewalls, network switches, ISP connections, and network-related hardware (printers, faxes, etc.) at the Chennai Corporate Office.
- Ensure network devices are updated, documented, and regularly inventoried.
- Troubleshoot network issues and outages promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Deploy and monitor corporate office premises network devices.
- Ensure network security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and versions.
User Account Management:
- Handle corporate user accounts (Google Workspace, JAMF, Office365, Zoom, Slack, etc.) for employee onboarding and off-boarding.
- Ensure immediate clean-up of user accounts upon employee departure.
- Manage permissions and access controls to ensure data security.
IT Support and Training:
- Serve as the primary contact for workstation issues, working closely with both corporate and remote employees on IT/OS and application-related problems.
- Provide IT Help Desk services and conduct training programs for employees.
- Collaborate with HR for employee induction programs, providing training on IT policies and procedures.
- Be the first and last resort for workstation issues.
Resource Management:
- Plan and estimate IT resources for new employees (laptops, chargers, docking stations, extra monitors, headphones, etc.) and maintain an updated inventory.
- Coordinate with the administration team to ship resources to remote employees and set them up.
- Ensure backup laptops and other resources are available for on-demand/emergency use.
- Ensure device inventory is updated upon changes.
AI Implementation:
- Understand and implement AI strategies to enhance IT security operations.
- Integrate AI solutions into existing IT systems and workflows in collaboration with the IT team.
- Monitor AI-driven systems and make adjustments as needed to optimize performance and security.
Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with hardware/software/network/ISP vendors to resolve issues and obtain support.
- Work with vendors for quotes and support for new procurements to support business IT needs.
- Ensure corporate office premises are up and running without disruption. Update stakeholders during outages or maintenance.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards in collaboration with the Admin/HR/Security team.
- Write and update technical documentation, policies, and job aids.
- Document network and OS-related changes and regularly update inventory.
Coordination with Security Operations:
- Work closely with the Security Operations Team to ensure alignment and compliance with security protocols and procedures.
- Participate in security audits and implement recommendations for improvements.
Primary Skills and Abilities:
