Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java and Spring, with proven experience in building scalable microservices and backend systems. This role also requires familiarity with automation tools, Python development, and working knowledge of AI technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs across distributed systems.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in agile development.
• Deploy and maintain applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and AI/ML feature integration.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs, CI/CD, and debugging complex systems.
• Proficient in AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in English (written and verbal).

Good to Have:

• Experience with automation tools like Workato or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Python development.
• Familiarity with AI/ML features or API integrations.
• Comfortable working with US-based teams (flexible hours).

Requirement

• Developer Background: The ideal candidate should come from a developer background with knowledge of Java and other programming languages.
• Database Management: They must have hands-on experience with database management.
• Experience Level: We are looking for a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• On-Call Experience: They must have proven on-call experience, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage stress effectively. We also value collaboration, proactivity, and a curious mindset.

L2 Support Engineers are responsible for:

1. Production Issue Debugging

○ Analyzing logs and monitoring application behavior to identify root

causes of production issues.

○ Providing temporary resolutions using database-level fixes or

configuration changes.

1. Handling Escalations from L1 Support

○ Addressing tickets and issues escalated from L1 by providing immediate

workarounds.

○ Ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.

1. Forwarding Issues to L3/Development Team

○ When a permanent code-level fix is required, the issue is escalated to the

L3 (Development) team.

○ Prior to escalation, L2 should provide a detailed analysis and temporary

resolution (e.g., database fix) to minimize user impact.

1. Root Cause Analysis and Documentation

○ Conducting detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.

○ Updating the Confluence Playbook with clear, actionable steps for L1

teams to facilitate future self-resolution.

Some of the tech problems you get to work-on as a backend engineer would be to build the backend for a modern spreadsheet experience from scratch, work on infra as code, write robust code that is fault tolerant, work on performant code that adheres to SLOs set by the organization.

Desired Candidate :

• Experience in Node.JS working with large scale backend applications
• Expertise in any Relational or NoSQL databases and any of caching databases
• Experience in integrating with RESTful/GraphQL APIs and Microservice APIs
• Good problem solving and debugging skill

REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years of experience in building highly scalable backend systems.
• Fluency or understanding of specific languages, such as JAVA, Operating System may be required, and Experience in Databases such as MySQL or Postgre SQL
• Strong understanding of Computer Science Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms, SOLID Design Principles, and REST Patterns.

• Java / JavaScript Developer Job Description (Minimum 2 years Experience in Java)
• Good in Core Java, Multithreading, J2EE, web services (REST, SOAP).
• In-depth knowledge on Java Script and object-oriented technique .
• Should be able to work independently
