SSE Backend Developer

Required Experience: 10–15 years (with at least 3–5 years in leadership roles)

● 10–15 years of overall experience in backend engineering, with strong exposure to

Python and/or Golang.

● 3–5 years of experience managing engineering teams.

● Proven experience delivering large-scale, distributed systems in production

environments.

● Strong understanding of microservices, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps

practices.

● Hands-on background in backend engineering (able to guide teams technically, even

if not coding daily).

● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability, and performance optimization.

● Experience in financial services or high-transaction domains is a plus.

● Experience leading teams that have utilized AI-driven development practices (e.g.,

agentic coding, LLM integration) to improve productivity and innovation is a

significant advantage.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior backend Developer specializing in FSE tools to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing user interfaces that enhance our customer experience. Your contributions will play a critical role in driving the success of our projects by creating dynamic, intuitive, and responsive web applications.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using front end tools to create seamless, user-friendly experiences.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend developers, to deliver high-quality products.

Job responsibilities

• Performs development, deployment, administration, management, configuration, testing, and integration tasks related to the cloud security platforms.
• Develops automated security and compliance capabilities in support of DevOps processes in a large-scale computing environment for the storage program within the firm.
• Champions a DevOps security model so that security is automated and elastic across all platforms and cultivate a cloud first mindset in transitioning workloads.
• Leverages DevOps tools to build, harden, maintain, and instrument a comprehensive security orchestration platform for infrastructure as code.
• Provides support to drive the maturity of the Cybersecurity software development lifecycle and develop & improve the quality of technical engineering documentation.
• Makes decisions of a global, strategic nature by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge of other lines of business & JPMC standards.
• Provides quality control of engineering deliverables, technical consultation to product management and technical interface between development and operations teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Security engineering and 3+ years applied experience
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java with strong coding skills
• Understanding of one or more Public Cloud platforms( AWS/ GCP/ Azure)
• Experience with highly scalable systems, release management, software configuration, design, development, and implementation is required
• Ability to analyzing complex data systems – failure analysis / root cause analysis, developing, improving, and maintaining technical engineering documentation

Type: Individual contributor with good hands on proficiency. 

Must have

• Strong proficiency in at least one of  Java, Ruby, Python
• Exposure to databases: any of  PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache Cassandra
• Any NoSQL database experience is a plus
• Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure: EC2 or S3 
• Proficiency with Git
• MUST: Using REST to make API calls. 

Great to have: 

• Experience working with one or more middleware, enterprise bus, queueing frameworks
• Any of Memcached/Redis, Apache Kafka / RabbitMQ / PubSub+ / AmazonMQ

What will you do at Tradyl:

• Build a shipping service module that is called by our website to query shipping rates from India to a destination country. Configure this to so that an Ops person can update shipping costs as and when they change. Own deployment and monitoring of this service. 
• Use Zapier to build a workflow to export a MixPanel report into a Google sheet every day.
• Change our supplier portal (built on bubble.io) to make an API call to our customer facing site, whenever a supplier modifies his profile.
• Write an alert mechanism that identifies catalogues with insufficient information and makes them non discoverable, which can run every day.
• Work with Business Team to design a workflow for product inwarding using Airtable. Write a small app within Airtable so that whenever a product is updated as “shipped” in airtable, it updates the customer facing website.
• Use an open source dashboarding framework to create a quick dashboard to track important business events.
