Job Description:

Pre-requisite skills required for a DevOps Engineer role include:

• 6+yrs exp in DevOps
• Experience working on Linux based infrastructure
• knowledge in AWS, docker, CI/CD tools
• Hands on exp in Python/shell scripting language
• hands on exp in AWS and Azure
• Work exp in Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, LINUX
• Excellent understanding of Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java
• Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo
• Excellent troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Previously help a DevOps Engineer or System Engineer role

• 1+ years of experience with Amazon AWS and related services (instances, ELB,

   EBS, S3, etc.) and abstractions on top of AWS.

• Strong understanding of network fundamentals, IP and related services (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.) and    

   security concerns.

• Experience in running Docker and Kubernetes clusters in production.

• Love automating mundane tasks and make developers life easy

• Must be able to code in, at a minimum, Python (or Ruby) and Bash.

• Non-trivial production experience with Saltstack and/or Puppet, Composer,Jenkins, GIT

• Agile software development best practices - continuous integration, releases,branches, etc.

• Experience with modern monitoring tools; capacity planning.

• Some experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Node.js, and PHP is a plus.

Experience in managing CI/CD using Jenkins.

Position Summary-

This role will support the customer implementation of a data quality and reliability product. The candidate is expected to install the product in the client environment, manage proof of concepts with prospects, and become a product expert and troubleshoot post installation, production issues. The role will have significant interaction with the client data engineering team and the candidate is expected to have good communication skills.

Required experience

1. 6-7 years experience providing engineering support to data domain/pipelines/data engineers.
2. Experience in troubleshooting data issues, analyzing end to end data pipelines and in working with users in resolving issues
3. Experience setting up enterprise security solutions including setting up active directories, firewalls, SSL certificates, Kerberos KDC servers, etc.
4. Basic understanding of SQL

Q2 is seeking a team-focused Lead Release Engineer with a passion for managing releases to ensure we release quality software developed using Agile Scrum methodology.  Working within the Development team, the Release Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with Development, Test Engineering, IT, Product Management, Design, Implementations, Support and other internal teams to drive efficiencies, transparency, quality and predictability in our software delivery pipeline.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership on cross-functional development focused software release process.
• Management of the product release cycle to new and existing clients including the build release process and any hotfix releases
• Support end-to-end process for production issue resolution including impact analysis of the issue, identifying the client impacts, tracking the fix through dev/testing and deploying the fix in various production branches.
• Work with engineering team to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate release delivery risks.
• Measure and monitor progress to ensure product features are delivered on time.
• Lead recurring release reporting/status meetings to include discussion around release scope, risks and challenges.
• Responsible for planning, monitoring, executing, and implementing the software release strategy.
• Establish completeness criteria for release of successfully tested software component and their dependencies to gate the delivery of releases to Implementation groups
• Serve as a liaison between business units to guarantee smooth and timely delivery of software packages to our Implementations and Support teams
• Create and analyze operational trends and data used for decision making, root cause analysis and performance measurement.
• Build partnerships, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively to achieve shared objectives.
• Make Improvements to processes to improve the experience and delivery for internal and external customers.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years related experience in product release management role.
• Excellent understanding of software delivery lifecycle.
• Technical Background with experience in common Scrum and Agile practices preferred.
• Deep knowledge of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines and Agile Methodology
• Experience with tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence.

• Experience in migration-deployment of applications to Cloud, re-engineering of application for cloud, setting up OS and app environments in virtualized cloud
• DevOps automation, CI/CD, infrastructure/services provisioning, application deployment and configuration
• DevOps toolsets to include Ansible, Jenkins and XLdeploy, XLrelease
• Deploy and configuration of Java/Wildfly, Springboot, JavaScript/Node.js and Ruby applications and middleware
• Scripting in Shell (bash) and Extensive Python
