AWS Cloud infrastructure Architect/ Delivery Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer at Unico Connect, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our software development and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS or GCP. 

Responsibilities

1. Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLabEE pipelines.
2. implement continuous deployment using CD tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Argo CD.
3. Utilize Docker for containerization and deployment.
4. Manage and optimize ports for efficient communication within the software architecture.
5. Implement and manage API gateways, Load Balancers to facilitate secure and efficient communication between services.
6. Configure and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to protect applications from security threats.
7. Implement robust security policies to safeguard our applications and infrastructure.
8. Deploy code to servers, ensuring a seamless and reliable release process.
9. Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes.
10. Assist in capacity planning and scaling of infrastructure as needed.
11. Identify, tackle, and mitigate system failures and security vulnerabilities.
12. Prepare, deploy, Manage and monitor Docker Containers (React, NodeJS applications) and store them.
13. Implement DevOps, GitOps, SecOps practices.
14. Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks such as DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with expertise in AWS or GCP.
• Solid understanding of port management, security policies, code deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with implementation of API gateway, Load balancer and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Proficiency in code versioning tools like Git. 
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and ELK.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work individually in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in implementing and designing cloud-native security concepts, DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Consulting with management on the operational requirements of software solutions.

• Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities.

• Developing interface simulators and designing automated module deployments.
• Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors.
• Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests.
• Documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
• Conforming to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in software development and DevOps, specifically managing AWS Infrastructure such as EC2s, RDS, Elastic cache, S3, IAM, cloud trail and other services provided by AWS.
• Experience Building a multi-region highly available auto-scaling infrastructure that optimises performance and cost. plan for future infrastructure as well as Maintain & optimise existing infrastructure.
• Conceptualise, architect and build automated deployment pipelines in a CI/CD environment like Jenkins.
• Conceptualise, architect and build a containerised infrastructure using Docker, Mesosphere or similar SaaS platforms.
• Conceptualise, architect and build a secured network utilising VPCs with inputs from the security team.
• Work with developers & QA to institute a policy of Continuous Integration with Automated testing Architect, build and manage dashboards to provide visibility into delivery, production application functional and performance status.
• Work with developers to institute systems, policies and workflows which allow for rollback of deployments Triage release of applications to production environment on a daily basis.
• Interface with developers and triage SQL queries that need to be executed in production environments.
• Assist the developers and on calls for other teams with post mortem, follow up and review of issues affecting production availability.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Ansible.
• Must have written playbook to automate provisioning of AWS infrastructure as well as automation of routine maintenance tasks.
• Must have had prior experience automating deployments to production and lower environments.
• Experience with APM tools like New Relic and log management tools.
• Our entire platform is hosted on AWS, comprising of web applications, webservices, RDS, Redis and Elastic Search clusters and several other AWS resources like EC2, S3, Cloud front, Route53 and SNS.
• Essential Functions System Architecture Process Design and Implementation

• Minimum of 2 years scripting experience in Ruby/Python (Preferable) and Shell Web Application Deployment Systems Continuous Integration tools (Ansible)Establishing and enforcing Network Security Policy (AWS VPC, Security Group) & ACLs.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

• Work on cloud marketplace enablements for some of our clients products
• Write Kubernetes Operators to automate custom PaaS solutions
•  Participate in cloud projects to implement new technology solutions, Proof of concepts to improve cloud technology offerings.               
• Work with developers to deploy to private or public cloud/on-premise services, debug and resolve issues. 
• On call responsibilities to respond to emergency situations and scheduled maintenance. 
• Contribute to and maintain documentation for systems, processes, procedures and infrastructure configuration 

What you bring (Skills):
 

•  Experience with administering of and debugging on Linux based systems with programming skills in Scripting, Golang, Python among others
•  Expertise in Git repositories specifically on GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Gerrit 
•  Comfortable with DevOps for  Big Data databases like Terradata, Netezza, Hadoop based ecosystems,   BigQuery, RedShift among others
• Comfortable in interfacing with SQL and No-SQL databases like MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Redis 

Great if you know (Skills):

• Understanding various build and CI/CD systems – Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Spinnaker or Cloud based build systems 
• Exposure to deploying and automating on any public cloud – GCP, Azure or AWS 
• Private cloud experience – VMWare or OpenStack 
• Big DataOps experience – managing infrastructure and processes for Apache Airflow, Beam, Hadoop clusters 
• Containerized applications – Docker based image builds and maintainenace.
