
The Hydrologist / Drainage Planning Expert will lead hydrological, hydraulic, and drainage design tasks across infrastructure, transportation, water resources, and urban development projects. The
role involves rainfall-runoff analysis, watershed delineation, hydraulic modelling, flood-risk evaluation, storm water drainage design, and integration of survey and geospatial datasets such as LiDAR, drone imagery, DEMs, and topographic survey data. The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and prepare technical reports, drawings, and engineering-ready deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rainfall-runoff analysis using standard hydrological methods.
- Perform catchment delineation, infiltration assessment, and runoff estimation.
- Analyse rainfall, discharge, and historical flood data.
- Develop hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or equivalent tools.
- Design storm water drainage systems including channels, culverts, and outfall structures.
- Prepare GL–IL sheets, drainage profiles, and hydraulic gradient calculations.
- Integrate survey datasets such as LiDAR, DEMs, and drone orthomosaics.
- Identify drainage bottlenecks and propose mitigation measures.
- Prepare hydrology reports, calculations, drawings, and GIS layers.
- Coordinate with GIS, CAD, LiDAR, Survey, and engineering teams.
- Conduct field visits for drainage assessment and validation.
