Job Summary:

As a Freight Broker, you will be responsible for facilitating the transportation of goods between shippers and carriers. Your role will involve managing logistics, building relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely deliveries. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals looking to start their careers in logistics and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

Build Relationships:

Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to understand their needs and preferences.

Load Matching:

Identify and match available loads with appropriate carriers, considering factors such as capacity, routes, and pricing.

Negotiation:

Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profit margins.

Documentation:

Prepare and manage necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and contracts.

Track Shipments:

Monitor shipments throughout the transportation process to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that arise.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by communicating with shippers and carriers, addressing inquiries, and resolving disputes.

Market Research:

Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and industry regulations to enhance operational effectiveness.

Database Management:

Maintain accurate records in freight brokerage software and databases.

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 Proven Experience with OTR, Drayage.

 Proven experience (6+ months) as a Freight Broker, in logistics, or a similar role.

 Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

 Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.

 Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Handle end‑to‑end export and import operations, including documentation, customs compliance, freight booking, shipment coordination and banking procedures, ensuring timely & accurate movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all export documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, COA/COO, Shipping Bill, etc.) and bank submissions.
• Handle import documentation, including LC applications, E‑Way bills, indemnity bonds, and customs clearance coordination.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, shipping lines, transporters, factory staff, CFS/ICD operators.
• Track shipments, follow up on duty drawback/realization certificates, ensure compliance with trade regulations and renewal of IEC, RCMC, LUT/UIN as needed.
• Maintain accurate export/import records (physical & digital), track transaction status, and liaise with banks & clients for settlements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (Logistics/International Trade/Related) or Diploma in Export–Import Management.
• 5–6 years hands‑on export/import operations & documentation experience.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, documentation, DGFT / ICEGATE procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital transaction handling.
• Excellent communication, coordination, organizational, and time‑management skills.

The Logistics Executive is responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end logistics and shipping operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, freight forwarders, CHA, transporters, vendors, and third-party agencies to support smooth export and import operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate ocean freight rates with shipping lines and freight forwarders and arrange competitive quotations as per shipment requirements.
• Provide daily freight rate updates to concerned internal departments.
• Book vessels and containers in line with shipment schedules and customer commitments.
• Track and update daily shipment status in Excel/MIS sheets and circulate updates to stakeholders.
• Monitor container lift-on, lift-off, gate-in, gate-out, and stuffing activities to ensure operational accuracy.
• Supervise daily container stuffing and coordinate with operations teams to avoid delays or discrepancies.
• Monitor the movement of export documents and ensure timely submission to CHA, forwarders, banks, and customers.
• Coordinate with CHA, forwarders, transporters, vendors, and internal operations teams for smooth shipment execution.
• Track shipments from origin until final delivery at destination and resolve transit-related issues.
• Handle coordination for third-party agency certifications, inspections, and related documentation.
• Monitor freight, transportation, and logistics invoices and coordinate with Accounts department, CHA, forwarders, and vendors for verification and payment processing.
• Identify, track, and report additional local charges and cost variations to management.
• Follow up with forwarders for release of Delivery Orders (D.O.), container availability, and booking confirmations.
• Handle troubleshooting situations such as delays, rollovers, documentation issues, port congestion, or operational challenges.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management review.

Reporting & Documentation

• Conduct periodic reporting of all logistics and shipment-related activities.
• Manage documentation, filing, and record-keeping in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports as required by the Reporting Manager, Directors, or Managing Director.

Ad-hoc & Development Activities

• Assist in ad-hoc logistics and operational activities as assigned.
• Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Participate in periodic logistics-related visits and meetings with vendors, CHA, forwarders, and service providers as required for smooth operations.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA with 4+ years of solid experience in Logistics.
• Good knowledge of logistics, preferably within Steel, Cement, FMCG, Transportation or related industries.
• Good to have experience working with B2B product-based organizations.
• Ability to understand the processes and cost drivers of customers from different industries.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into insights.
