Job Title: SAP BASIS Consultant

Work Location: Ahmedabad

· Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems such as ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, and others.

· Manage SAP system landscapes including Development, Quality Assurance, and Production environments.

· Perform system copies, client copies, and system refreshes.

· Monitor and analyze system performance using SAP tools (e.g., ST02, ST03N, SM50, SM66).

· Tune SAP systems for optimal performance, including parameter optimization and workload distribution.

· Implement best practices for system stability and performance.

· Apply SAP patches, enhancement packs, and support packages.

· Plan and execute SAP system upgrades (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA).

· Manage kernel upgrades and database upgrades.

· Manage user roles, authorizations, and profiles to ensure system security.

· Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard SAP environments.

· Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

· Perform database management tasks such as backup, recovery, and optimization.

· Monitor database performance and resolve issues related to SAP databases (e.g., HANA, ASE Sybase, Oracle, Max DB)

· Implement HANA database management procedures, including backups, replication, and recovery.

· Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP system issues.

· Work with SAP OSS and other support teams to resolve critical issues.

· Document incident resolution and provide root cause analysis.

· Set up and maintain system monitoring using SAP Solution Manager and other monitoring tools.

· Generate and analyze system performance reports.

· Proactively identify and resolve potential system issues.

· Work closely with other SAP functional and technical teams to support business processes.

· Provide support for project implementations and migrations.

Technical Skills:

· Proficient in SAP system installations, configurations, and administration.

· Strong knowledge of SAP HANA and other databases (e.g., ASE Sybase, Oracle, Max DB).

· Experience with SAP system upgrades, patches, and support packages.

· Understanding of SAP security, user management, and role-based access control.

· Familiarity with operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows) and networking concepts.

About the role

Summary We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise SAP landscape across hybrid environments. You will be responsible for administering SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA systems hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and seamless connectivity across modern cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

• System Administration & Maintenance: Lead core SAP Basis tasks including installation, upgrades, system copies, patch management (SPS/EHP), client copy operations, and kernel updates for SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
• Infrastructure & GCP Management: Operations, monitoring, and architecture maintenance of SAP workloads hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), optimizing cloud resources and storage.
• Security & Authentication: Implement and maintain robust security protocols, user authorization profiles, and single sign-on (SSO) configurations utilizing OAuth 2.0 and SAML integrations.
• Integration & BTP Administration: Manage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) tenants, connectivity (SAP Cloud Connector), destinations, and cloud integration components.
• Disaster Recovery & Performance Tuning: Perform proactive system monitoring, performance tuning, database administration, and execute reliable backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications & Experience

• Core Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Consultant managing both SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Cloud & Security: Proven expertise in GCP cloud architecture for SAP and advanced authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SSO, Identity Provisioning).
• SAP BTP: Hands-on experience with SAP BTP configuration and administration.

Preferred / Desirable Skills

• Experience administering SAP Data Services (BODS), SAP SLT for ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with SAP Datasphere for unified data management.
• Technical setup and connectivity experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
