Role Specification

This position is a full-time role located in Chennai, India.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, iterate, and manage our Android mobile application.
• Able to own and deliver a feature independently.
• Partner closely with our design, product, and engineering teams to produce a feature that flows seamlessly and works intuitively.
• Able to understand the requirements and come up with estimates, write high quality, maintainable and unit-testable code.
• Own important pieces of the product that have high visibility both internally and externally.

6-Month Accomplishments

• Get familiar with Poshmark’s ecosystem and tools
• Contributing to Poshmark’s Android feature development
• Have a good collaboration within the team. Also, with other teams like Product, Design, QA, DevOps
• Should participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and provide valuable inputs to other Team members.

12+ Month Accomplishments

• Drive feature development independently
• Provide ideas/changes to improve Android application code.
• Mentor a fellow developer.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong foundation in the fundamentals of programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for mobile systems.
• 4+ years of relevant SWE experience with experience developing Android apps (Preferably, apps released into the Play Store)
• Experience in Kotlin, Java and using Android Studio.
• Experience in using software design patterns. (MVVM)
• Proficiency in Multi-threading and performance & memory optimization
• Experience in writing unit test cases.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Experience in using RESTful APIs
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

We are looking for a React Native Engineer for our Mobile App. The Mobile App team is responsible for the mobile app used by our B2C users to register as well as complete their journey with Udrive cars initiation to end.

Your responsibilities:

You will be part of our new mobile team which is part of our customer journey domain and you will work together with a cross-functional team

You strive to offer the best possible experience for our customers on mobile devices

You contribute to the implementation of business requirements as well as to architectural decisions

You ensure that your code is well tested, architected, meets our coding standards, and has proper logging, monitoring, and alerting

Your goal is to provide always-accessible information in the most convenient way, to have better engagement and an overall outstanding user experience

Your profile:

You have experience building high-performance mobile React Native applications on both iOS and Android platforms

Ability to translate Figma based designs to mobile interactions with pixel perfections

You show excellent knowledge of JavaScript and its nuances, including TypeScript.

You have experience with building real-time analytics solutions and streaming platforms

You are familiar with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle and store submission processes

It is great if you have an understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage

• Work with an open-source iOS ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks. 
• Work directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products.  
• Build reusable iOS software components for the platform.  

• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.   
• Work on bug fixing to improve application performance and shipping new features as required 
   

  Requirements:  

• Experience with iOS Design patterns, memory management, REST web-services and JSON Parsing. Designing and building advanced applications for the iOS platform 
•  Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features 

• Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform  
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance  
• Can integrate apps with backend and 3rd party API’s. 
• Good programming skills in Objective-C/Swift and extensive knowledge of Apples SDKs and frameworks like Core Data, Core Graphics, Foundation, UIKit, etc.  
• Have published one or more applications in an iOS App Store. 

• Knowledge of iOS App Store deployment process.

• You'll Develop robust, quick prototypes for proof-of concept features / application based on briefs.

What you need to have:

• Bachelors/ Masters degree in computer science, Engineering or a related subject
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in mobile application development
• Proficiency in Problem Solving, Data Structures, and Algorithms
• Strong knowledge of design concepts and constraints on mobile platforms
• Proficiency in Java/ Android/ Excellent in Kotlin & Flutter language
• Demonstrable experience building excellent mobile apps that are currently in Google PlayStore
