About the Role:

• This position is responsible for end to end management of Shopalyst's cloud infrastructure platform (AWS and Google Cloud).
• Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (or equivalent) plus minimum 3+ years of experience in managing AWS cloud infrastructure.

Core responsibilities:

Infra management

• Review infrastructure change requests, suggest & implement optimal solution in terms of performance, maintainability & cost
• Keep the infrastructure updated/upgraded. This includes servers, operating system, packages and application software
• Maintain all infrastructure configuration as IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
• Infra monitoring and site reliability
• Continuous monitoring of infrastructure and ensuring 24x7 availability
• Implement/maintain automated alerting mechanisms for handling infra outages
• Document and maintain infra recovery procedures, ensure successful backup of critical data
• Continuously monitor infra utilization and alert on when to scale up/scale down
• instances Infra Security, Compliance & Certifications
• Infrastructure access management - ensure least privilege as the default policy. Review
• infra access periodically. Manage access to critical systems like AWS/Open VPN
• Adherence to CIS/AWS security benchmarks on AWS Security Hub
• Implement controls required for different attestations/certifications like SOC 2 Type 2,ISO 27xxx, PCI DSS etc

DevOps

• Enable CI/CD process for application deployment
• Infra cost monitoring and optimisation
• Services-wise infrastructure cost monitoring analysis and optimisation
• Infra trends and new services
• Evaluate new cloud services, analyse feasibility of adoption

Required Skills and Experience:

• AWS: 8+ years experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. EC2,S3, ELB, VPC,Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFront, RDS, Lambda, Glacier) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS based cloud solution
• DevOps: Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Amazon AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
• Infra automation: Experience in Terraform/Ansible
• Scripting Skills: Strong scripting (e.g. Python) and automation skills.
• Operating Systems: Linux system administration and strong shell scripting skills
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with web servers (e.g. Nginx).
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.

Desired Skills (Not essential but beneficial to have):

• DB Skills: Basic DB administration experience - Cassandra, RDS, MySQL
• Search engines: Experience with search engines such as Apache Solr/Elastic Search
• Version Control: Experience administrating version control systems such as Git

We are looking for a Senior DevOps engineer to join the engineering team and help us automate the build, release, packaging and infrastructure provisioning and support processes. The candidate is expected to own the full life-cycle of provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, maintenance and support for cloud as well as on-premise deployments.

Requirements

• 5-plus years of DevOps experience managing the Big Data application stack including HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive and Hbase
• Deeper understanding of all the configurations required for installing and maintaining the infrastructure in the long run
• Experience setting up high availability, configuring resource allocation, setting up capacity schedulers, handling data recovery tasks
• Experience with middle-layer technologies including web servers (httpd, ningx), application servers (Jboss, Tomcat) and database systems (postgres, mysql)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, testing and deployment of the virtual desktop infrastructure
• Facilitating the transition of the VDI solution to Operations, providing operational and end user support when required.
• Acting as the single point of contact for all technical engagements on the VDI infrastructure.
• Creation of documented standard processes and procedures for all aspects of VDI infrastructure, administration and management.
• Working with the vendor in assessing the VDI infrastructure architecture from a deployment, performance, security and compliance perspective.

 Knowledge around security best practices and understanding of vulnerability assessments.

• Providing mentoring and guidance to other VDI Administrators.

• Document designs, development plans, operations procedures for the VDI solution.

   

• Collaborate with Dev, QA and Data Science teams on environment maintenance, monitoring (ELK, Prometheus or equivalent), deployments and diagnostics
• Administer a hybrid datacenter, including AWS and EC2 cloud assets
• Administer, automate and troubleshoot container based solutions deployed on AWS ECS
• Be able to troubleshoot problems and provide feedback to engineering on issues
• Automate deployment (Ansible, Python), build (Git, Maven. Make, or equivalent) and integration (Jenkins, Nexus) processes
• Learn and administer technologies such as ELK, Hadoop etc.

Responsibilities :

- Manage a portfolio of 5+ Enterprise customer accounts with complex needs (typical enterprise customers invest between $500k and $4m+ per year with CloudPassage, have hundreds to tens of thousands of individual public cloud infrastructure deployments, and protect hundreds of thousands of cloud infrastructure assets with Halo).

- Provide level-3 technical support on your customer's most complex issues

- Lead implementation of low-level security controls in Cloud environments, for services, server and containers

- Remotely diagnose & resolve DevSecOps issues in customer environments - able to resolve their DevOps issues that may be interfering with CloudPassage processing.

- Interact with CloudPassage Engineering team by providing customer issue reproduction and data capture, technical diagnostics and validating fixes. QA experience preferred.

- Establish and program manage proactive, value-driven, high-touch relationships with your customers to understand, document and align customer strategies, business objectives, designs, processes and projects with Halo platform capabilities and broader CloudPassage services.

- Develop a trusted advisor relationship by building and maintaining appropriate relationships at all levels with your customer accounts, creating a premium and high-caliber experience.

- Ensure continued satisfaction, identify & confirm unaddressed customer needs that can be value-add opportunities for up-sell and cross-sell, and communicate those needs to the CloudPassage sales team. Identify any early CSAT issues and renewal risks and work with the internal team to remediate and ensure strong CSAT and a successful renewal.

- Be a strong customer advocate within CloudPassage and identify and support areas for improvement in the customer experience, both in our product and processes.

Requirements : Strong cloud security knowledge & experience including :

- End-to-end enterprise security processes

- Cloud security - cloud migrations & shift in security requirements, tooling & approach

- Hands-on DevOps, DevSecOps architecture & automation (critical)

- 4+ years experience in security consulting and project/program management serving cybersecurity customers.

- Complex, level 3 technical support

- Remotely diagnosing & resolving DevSecOps issues in customer environments

- Interacting with CloudPassage Engineering team with customer issue reproduction

- Experience working in a security SaaS company in a startup environment.
