Key Responsibilities

DevOps Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the end-to-end DevOps strategy for high-frequency trading and fintech platforms.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing DevOps team focused on automation, reliability, and performance.
• Partner closely with engineering and product leaders to ensure infrastructure strategy supports business and technical goals.

CI/CD & Infrastructure Automation

• Architect, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for ultra-low-latency trading systems.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and advanced automation toolsets.
• Establish robust release management, deployment workflows, and versioning best practices for mission‑critical environments.

Cloud & On‑Prem Infrastructure Management

• Design and manage hybrid infrastructures across AWS, GCP, and on-premise data centers ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Implement sophisticated networking strategies for low-latency workloads including routing optimization and performance tuning.
• Lead multi‑cloud scalability, cost optimization, and environment standardization initiatives.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

• Oversee large-scale monitoring systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and related observability tools.
• Implement predictive alerting, automated remediation, and system‑wide health checks for zero‑downtime operations.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and performance tuning for systems processing millions of transactions per second.

Security & Compliance

• Champion DevSecOps practices and embed security across the entire development and deployment lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulatory standards (SEBI and global frameworks) with strong audit and compliance mechanisms.
• Lead security automation efforts, vulnerability management, and advanced IAM policy implementation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps experience, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Deep hands-on expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and ArgoCD.
• Strong command of AWS, GCP, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and large-scale container orchestration.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and overall IaC workflows.
• Strong Linux administration, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls), and system internals.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
• Deep understanding of security principles, encryption, IAM, and compliance frameworks.

The Role

As a DevOps Engineer at Blitzy's Pune headquarters, you'll build and operate the infrastructure that powers our AI agents and the applications they produce. You'll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and AI-native systems — designing the pipelines, clusters, and automation that allow Blitzy to ship production-ready software at machine speed. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an engineer who moves fast, automates everything, and cares deeply about developer experience and system reliability.

Areas of Ownership

• Build and manage Kubernetes clusters supporting AI agent workloads and application deployment at scale.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and AI service delivery — ensuring speed, reliability, and repeatability.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and dynamic scaling using Python scripts and Terraform IaC.
• Deploy and manage applications using Helm charts; own packaging standards and release automation.
• Build and maintain comprehensive observability stacks — alerting, distributed tracing, metrics, and logging (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry).
• Monitor and maintain production services and APIs; own incident response and drive blameless postmortems.
• Build dedicated infrastructure for AI agent orchestration and management, enabling Blitzy's core autonomous development capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment strategies and continuously improve developer experience through tooling and automation.

Required Experience

• 5–8 years of DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience.
• Python proficiency for scripting, automation, and infrastructure tooling.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise — cluster management, workload deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on Helm experience for application packaging and release management.
• Proven ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines across complex, multi-service environments.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Terraform proficiency for infrastructure-as-code provisioning and state management.
• Strong Linux administration and containerization fundamentals (Docker, OCI).

At Toast, our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) are responsible for keeping all customer-facing services and other Toast production systems running smoothly. SREs are a blend of pragmatic operators and software craftspeople who apply sound software engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our environments and our codebase. Our decisions are based on instrumentation and continuous observability, as well as predictions and capacity planning.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

• Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplift
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives

Troubleshooting and Supporting Escalations:

• Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations across infrastructure, databases, web, and mobile applications
• Implement strategies to increase system reliability and performance through on-call rotation and process optimization
• Perform and run blameless RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively, looking for answers that will prevent the incident from ever happening again

• Extensive industry experience with at least 7+ years in SRE and/or DevOps roles
• Polyglot technologist/generalist with a thirst for learning
• Deep understanding of cloud and microservice architecture and the JVM
• Experience with tools such as APM, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker
• Experience developing software or software projects in at least four languages, ideally including two of Go, Python, and Java
• Experience with cloud computing technologies ( AWS cloud provider preferred)

As a DevOps Engineer, you :

- Will work collaboratively with the engineering and customer support teams to deploy and operate our systems. 

- Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

- Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. 

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our test and production environments. 

- Take control of various mandates and change management processes to ensure compliance for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular) 

- Monitor and optimize the usage of various cloud services. 

- Setup and enforce CI/CD processes and practices

Skills required :

- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, ELB, S3, SES, to name a few)

- Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and hardening 

- Experience with automation using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent 

- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (Jenkins) 

- Experience with container related technologies (docker, lxc, rkt, docker swarm, kubernetes)

- Working understanding of code and script (Python, Perl, Ruby, Java)

- Working understanding of SQL and databases 

- Working understanding of version control system (GIT is preferred) 

- Managing IT operations, setting up best practices and tuning them from time-totime. 

- Ensuring that process overheads do not reduce the productivity and effectiveness of small team. - Willingness to explore and learn new technologies and continuously refactor thetools and processes.
