Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 2 – 5 years of experience working on AWS-based production systems. This role strictly requires hands-on experience managing production databases (MongoDB / SQL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure with focus on availability, security, and cost.
• Deploy and operate Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized applications in production.
• Manage and scale production databases (backup, replication, performance tuning, upgrades).
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Manage MongoDB or SQL in high-scale environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Handle production incidents, on-call support, and RCA.
• Automate ops tasks using Bash / Python.

Requirements:

• 2 – 5 years of DevOps experience.
• Hands-on experience managing production databases (MongoDB or SQL).
• Strong AWS & Kubernetes (EKS) experience in production.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins / GitLab CI / GitHub Actions / ArgoCD), Terraform, Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Scripting: Bash / Python.
• Immediate joiners preferred.

Experience with MongoDB is preferred, though candidates with solid SQL database experience will also be considered.

Candidate must be from a product-based company with experience handling large-scale production traffic.

2. Candidate must have strong Linux expertise with hands-on production troubleshooting and working knowledge of databases and middleware (Mongo, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka).

3. Candidate must have solid experience with Kubernetes.

4. Candidate should have strong knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Chef / Puppet. Add on- Prometheus & Grafana etc.

5. Candidate must be an individual contributor with strong ownership.

6. Candidate must have hands-on experience with DATABASE MIGRATIONS and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

7. Candidate must have working knowledge of Go/Python and Java.

8. Candidate should have working experience on Cloud platform - AWS

9. Candidate should have Minimum 1.5 years stability per organization, and a clear reason for relocation

Job Overview:

You will work in engineering and development teams to integrate and develop cloud solutions and virtualized deployment of software as a service product. This will require understanding the software system architecture function as well as performance and security requirements. The DevOps Engineer is also expected to have expertise in available cloud solutions and services, administration of virtual machine clusters, performance tuning and configuration of cloud computing resources, the configuration of security, scripting and automation of monitoring functions. This position requires the deployment and management of multiple virtual clusters and working with compliance organizations to support security audits. The design and selection of cloud computing solutions that are reliable, robust, extensible, and easy to migrate are also important.

Experience:

Experience working on billing and budgets for a GCP project - MUST

At least 2 years of experience on GCP.

Basic Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering OR Equivalent.

● Extensive scripting or programming experience (Shell Script, Python).

● Extensive experience working with CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins).

● Extensive experience working with GCP, Azure, or Cloud Foundry.

● Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL, elastic search).

● Must have 2 years of minimum experience with GCP certification.

5. AWS Networking and Content delivery (VPC, Route 53 and CloudFront)
6. Managing databases like RDS, Snowflake, Athena, Redis and Elasticsearch
7. Managing IAM roles and policies for the functions like Lambda, SNS, aws cognito, secret manager, certificate manager, Guard Duty, Inspector EC2 and S3.
8. AWS Analytics (Elasticsearch, Athena, Glue and kinesis).
9. AWS containers (elastic container registry, elastic container service, elastic Kubernetes service, Docker Hub and Docker compose
10. AWS Auto scaling group (launch configuration, launch template) and load balancer
11. EBS (snapshots, volumes and AMI.)
12. AWS CI/CD build spec scripting, Jenkins groovy scripting, shell scripting and python scripting.
