Job Description: Python Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for a talented Python Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications and automation solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, familiarity with modern development practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Python Development & Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts, tools, and automation frameworks.
• Build automation for operational tasks such as deployment, monitoring, system checks, and maintenance.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented Python code following best practices.
• Develop APIs, CLI tools, or microservices when required.

Linux Systems Engineering

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Perform system performance tuning, log analysis, and root-cause diagnostics.
• Work with system services, processes, networking, file systems, and security controls.
• Implement shell scripting (bash) alongside Python for system-level automation.

CI/CD & Infrastructure Support

• Support integration of Python automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Participate in build and release processes for infrastructure components.
• Ensure automation aligns with established infrastructure standards and governance.
• Use Bash scripting together with Python to improve automation efficiency.

Cloud & DevOps Collaboration (if applicable)

• Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps engineers on automation for AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Integrate Python tools with configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible, or with Terraform modules.
• Contribute to containerization efforts (Docker, Kubernetes) leveraging Python automation.

• Build and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Designing and managing highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant infrastructure & networking that forms the backbone of distributed systems at RaRa Delivery.

• Pair with team members on functional and non-functional requirements and spread design philosophy and goals across the team
• Excellent bash, and scripting fundamentals and hands-on with scripting in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang, etc.
• Good understanding of distributed system fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot issues in a larger distributed infrastructure
• Working knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, internet routing, and load balancing
• Basic understanding of cluster orchestrators and schedulers (Kubernetes)
• Deep knowledge of Linux as a production environment, container technologies. e.g. Docker, Infrastructure As Code such as Terraform, K8s administration at large scale.
• Have worked on production distributed systems and have an understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful services, CI/CD.

Key Result Areas: 

• Build world class Webapps for the Ola Electric ecosystem.
• Work on a full product development lifecycle from requirement gathering, product design, development, to roll out and maintenance
• Effectively collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders including product and design
• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end 
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure) and code modularity, extensibility, quality
• Experience in building Websites from Scratch is a big plus

Key Skills Required: 

• Min 3+ Years in Web Application Development
• Write clean, solid and testable code while keeping the user experience fast and reliable
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, Reach, Redux 
• Proficient in Web Interface designing
• Experience in developing reusable UI components
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services 
• Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce websites.

Job Description:
- Experience with Building Web-based Applications and service-based architecture using  modern framework node.js
- Should have hands-on expertise in some of the following technologies including Node JS, SOAP, RESTful, JSON, XML,
- Common frameworks such as MVC.

 - Deep understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms
- Experience in integrating API for client-server communication with security considerations.

 - Experience with web services API integration (Rest, JSON, XML).
- Ability to understand, documenting features, technical specifications & infrastructure requirements and map to technical implementation.
- Strong knowledge of best practices and modern web design trends is necessary.
- Excel at rapid prototyping and at writing good code.
- Experience with modern version control. (GITHub, BitBucket)
- Experience with testing/debugging and validating work produced as part of the development process in multiple platforms
- Experience with HTML & CSS frameworks such as bootstrap.
- Understanding of general user experience and UI design principles
- Good understanding of cross browser front end development issues

- Cloud Computing Services – AWS will be an added advantage.
