DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 2 – 5 years of experience working on AWS-based production systems. This role strictly requires hands-on experience managing production databases (MongoDB / SQL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure with focus on availability, security, and cost.
• Deploy and operate Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized applications in production.
• Manage and scale production databases (backup, replication, performance tuning, upgrades).
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Manage MongoDB or SQL in high-scale environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Handle production incidents, on-call support, and RCA.
• Automate ops tasks using Bash / Python.

Requirements:

• 2 – 5 years of DevOps experience.
• Hands-on experience managing production databases (MongoDB or SQL).
• Strong AWS & Kubernetes (EKS) experience in production.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins / GitLab CI / GitHub Actions / ArgoCD), Terraform, Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Scripting: Bash / Python.
• Immediate joiners preferred.

Experience with MongoDB is preferred, though candidates with solid SQL database experience will also be considered.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 0 to 1 years of experience in designing and maintaining high volume and scalable micro-services architecture on cloud infrastructure Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration and Python/Shell Scripting Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto-scaling, VPC, Lambda), GCP, Azure Knowledge in deployment automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Cloud Watch Monitoring, Nagios Knowledge of Java Virtual Machines, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Kafka, Microservices architecture, Caching mechanisms Experience in enterprise application development, maintenance and operations Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills

As an Infrastructure Engineer at Navi, you will be building a resilient infrastructure platform, using modern Infrastructure engineering practices.

You will be responsible for the availability, scaling, security, performance and monitoring of the navi Cloud platform. You’ll be joining a team that follows best practices in infrastructure as code

• Build out the Infrastructure components like API Gateway, Service Mesh, Service Discovery, container orchestration platform like kubernetes.
• Developing reusable Infrastructure code and testing frameworks
• Build meaningful abstractions to hide the complexities of provisioning modern infrastructure components
• Design a scalable Centralized Logging and Metrics platform
• Drive solutions to reduce Mean Time To Recovery(MTTR), enable High Availability.

• Good to have experience in managing large scale cloud infrastructure, preferable AWS and Kubernetes
• Experience in developing applications using programming languages like Java, Python and Go
• Experience in handling logs and metrics at a high scale.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification required
• 5+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and support of highly complex solutions (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring security and compliance, availability, reliability, etc.)
• Deep technical experience in serverless AWS infrastructure
• Understanding of cloud automation and orchestration tools and techniques including git, terraform, ARM or equivalent
• Create Technical Design documents, understand technical designs and translate into the application requirements.
• Exercise independent judgment in evaluating alternative technical solutions
• Participate in code and design review process
• Write unit test cases for quality check of the deliverables
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment as well as independently
• Proven ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Excellent English communication skills are required
