DevOps Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver automation solutions to enhance platform functionality and reliability.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Champion and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform.
• Build and maintain containerized environments using Kubernetes (AKS).
• Develop self-service, self-healing, monitoring, and alerting systems for cloud platforms.
• Automate development, testing, and deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Docker to streamline delivery pipelines.
• Ensure platform observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working with Azure services such as compute, networking, storage, identity, and messaging services.
• Expertise in container orchestration using Kubernetes (AKS).
• Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud-native and microservices architecture patterns.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or Cassandra.

Additional Skills

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Programming or scripting experience in Bash, Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience managing multi-region or high-availability cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum / DevOps practices and collaboration tools.

Required Skills:

• Experience in systems administration, SRE or DevOps focused role
• Experience in handling production support (on-call)
• Good understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts.
• Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: ECS, EC2, EBS, EKS, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM, Lambda.
• Experience with Docker containers and containerization concepts
• Experience with managing and scaling Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
• Experience building scalable infrastructure in AWS with Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of Protocol-level such as HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, DNS, and LDAP
• Experience monitoring production systems
• Expertise in leveraging Automation / DevOps principles, experience with operational tools, and able to apply best practices for infrastructure and software deployment (Ansible).
• HAProxy, Nginx, SSH, MySQL configuration and operation experience
• Ability to work seamlessly with software developers, QA, project managers, and business development
• Ability to produce and maintain written documentation

Responsibilities

1. Deployment, management, and administration of web services in a public cloud environment
2. Design and develop solutions for deploying highly secure, highly available, performant and scalable services in elastically provisioned environments
3. Design and develop continuous integration and continuous deployment solutions from development through production
4. Own all operational aspects of running web services including automation, monitoring and alerting, reliability and performance
5. Have direct impact on running a business by thinking about innovative solutions to operational problems
6. Drive solutions and communication for production impacting incidents
7. Running technical projects and being responsible for project-level deliveries
8. Partner well with engineering and business teams across continents

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or closely related field
2. 4 - 6 years professional experience in DevOps, with at least 1/2 years in Linux / Unix
3. Very strong in core CS concepts around operating systems, networks, and systems architecture including web services
4. Strong scripting experience in Python and Bash
5. Deep experience administering, running and deploying AWS based services
6. Solid experience with Terraform, Packer and Docker or their equivalents
7. Knowledge of security protocols and certificate infrastructure.
8. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills 
9. Broad experience with cloud hosted applications including virtualization platforms, relational and non relational data stores, reverse proxies, and orchestration platforms
10. Curiosity, continuous learning and drive to continually raise the bar
11. Strong partnering and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

1. Past experience as a senior developer or application architect strongly preferred.
2. Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
3. Experience with Zookeeper, Consul, HAProxy, ELK-Stack, Kafka, PostgreSQL.
4. Experience working with, and preferably designing, a system compliant to any security framework (PCI DSS, ISO 27000, HIPPA, SOC 2, ...)
5. Experience with AWS orchestration services such as ECS and EKS.
6. Experience working with AWS ML pipeline services like AWS Sagemak
