What does a successful Senior DevOps Engineer do at Fiserv?

This role’s focus will be on contributing and enhancing our DevOps environment within Issuer Solution group, where our cross functional Scrum teams are delivering solutions built on cutting-edge mobile technology and products. You will be expected to support across the wider business unit, leading DevOps practices and initiatives.

What will you do:

• Build, manage, and deploy CI/CD pipelines.

• DevOps Engineer - Helm Chart, Rundesk, Openshift

• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline.

• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure

• Optimize and automate release/development cycles and processes.

• Be part of and help promote our DevOps culture.

• Identify and implement continuous improvements to the development practice

What you must have:

• 3+ years of experience in devops with hands-on experience in the following:

- Writing automation scripts for deployments and housekeeping using shell scripts (bash) and ansible playbooks

- Building docker images and running/managing docker instances

- Building Jenkins pipelines using groovy scripts

- Working knowledge on kubernetes including application deployments, managing application configurations and persistence volumes

• Has good understanding on infrastructure as code

• Ability to write and update documentation

• Demonstrate a logical, process orientated approach to problems and troubleshooting

• Ability to collaborate with multi development teams

What you are preferred to have:

• 8+ years of development experience

• Jenkins administration experience

• Hands-on experience in building and deploying helm charts

Process Skills:

• Should have worked in Agile Project

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining the efficient functioning of containerized applications and systems within an organization
• Design, implement, and manage scalable Kubernetes clusters in cloud or on-premise environments
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments, and track all automation processes
• Implement workload automation using configuration management tools, as well as infrastructure as code (IaC) approaches for resource provisioning
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of Kubernetes clusters and underlying cloud infrastructure
• Ensure high availability, security, and scalability of infrastructure through automation and best practices
• Establish and enforce cloud security standards, policies, and procedures Work agile technologies

Primary Requirements:

• Kubernetes: Proven experience in managing Kubernetes clusters (min. 2-3 years)
• Linux/Unix: Proficiency in administering complex Linux infrastructures and services
• Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with CM tools like Ansible, as well as the 
• knowledge of resource provisioning with Terraform or other Cloud-based utilities
• CI/CD Pipelines: Expertise in building and monitoring complex CI/CD pipelines to 
• manage the build, test, packaging, containerization and release processes of software
• Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting and process automation skills in Bash, Python
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Version Control: Proficient with Git and familiar with GitOps workflows.
• Security: Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud and containerized 
• environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for design, implementation, and continuous improvement on automated CI/CD infrastructure
• Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
• Responsible for designing topology to meet requirements for uptime, availability, scalability, robustness, fault tolerance & security
• Implement proactive measures for automated detection and resolution of recurring operational issues
• Lead operational support team manage incidents, document root cause and tracking preventive measures
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously validating/fixing vulnerability assessment reports and risk management
• Responsible for the design and development of tools, installation procedures
• Develops and maintains accurate estimates, timelines, project plans, and status reports
• Organize and maintain packaging and deployment of various internal modules and third-party vendor libraries
• Responsible for the employment, timely performance evaluation, counselling, employee development, and discipline of assigned employees.
• Participates in calls and meetings with customers, vendors, and internal teams on regular basis.
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with good technical knowledge regarding build, release, and systems engineering

Technical Skills:

• Experience with DevOps toolchains such as Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Bitbucket
• Experience with Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Prometheus ,Grafana
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Sound understanding of cloud technologies preferably AWS technologies
• Linux, Windows, Scripting, Configuration Management, Build and Release Engineering
• 6 years of experience in DevOps practices, with a good understanding of DevOps and Agile principles
• Good scripting skills (Python/Perl/Ruby/Bash)
• Experience with standard continuous integration tools Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines
• Work on software configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and other business productivity tools
• Working knowledge on HSM and PKI (Good to have)

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ Years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/setting up of the Linux environment, who can write shell scripts for any given requirement.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring AWS or GCP services from SCRATCH and maintaining them.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring Kubernetes & EKS and ensuring high availability of container orchestration.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up CICD from SCRATCH in Jenkins & Gitlab.
• Experience configuring/maintaining one monitoring tool.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Candidates with certifications - AWS, GCP, CKA, etc will be preferred
• Hands-on experience with databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, RDS).

Experience:

• Min 3 years of experience as SRE automation engineer building, running, and maintaining production sites. Not looking for candidates who have experience only as L1/L2 or Build & Deploy..

Location:

• Remotely, anywhere in India

Timings:

• The person is expected to deliver with both high speed and high quality as well as work for 40 Hours per week (~6.5 hours per day, 6 days per week) in shifts which will rotate every month.

• 3-6 years of relevant work experience in a DevOps role.
• Deep understanding of Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Proven record of infra automation and programming skills in any of these languages - Python, Ruby, Perl, Javascript.
• Implement DevOps Industry best practices and the application of procedures to achieve a continuously deployable system
• Continuously improve and increase the capabilities of the CI/CD pipeline
• Support engineering teams in the implementation of life-cycle infrastructure solutions and documentation operations in order to meet the engineering departments quality and standards
• Participate in production outages and handle complex issues and works towards resolution
