Key Responsibilities

Azure Infrastructure: Deploy, configure, and manage Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, VPN/ExpressRoute gateways, storage, App Services, and Azure SQL.

Azure Landing Zones: Implement and maintain landing zones aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, including management groups, subscriptions, RBAC, Azure Policy, and resource tagging.

Cloud Migration: Execute on-premises-to-Azure migrations using Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and database migration tools.

Identity and Access Management: Manage Microsoft Entra ID integrations, Entra Connect, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and managed identities.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: Configure and manage Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, monitoring, and disaster recovery solutions.

L2 Support and Incident Management: Resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate complex issues to L3 teams with detailed diagnostics.

Cloud Security: Apply security baselines using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and implement secure-score recommendations.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and Azure CLI, and work with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.

Cost Optimization: Monitor Azure consumption, optimize resource utilization, and prepare monthly cloud usage and cost reports.

Technical Documentation: Prepare low-level designs, operational runbooks, as-built documentation, and project handover documents.

Presales Support: Assist with effort estimation, technical solution inputs, and proof-of-concept implementations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

3–5 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

At least 2 years of experience in customer-facing consulting or managed services environments.

Strong working knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity services.

Practical experience delivering at least one end-to-end Azure migration or landing zone deployment.

Good understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell.

Working knowledge of Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.

Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, or similar platforms.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact with customer IT teams.

Certifications

Mandatory

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).

Preferred

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).

Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).

Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).

Good to Have

Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop deployment and image management.

Exposure to Microsoft Sentinel or Microsoft Defender XDR.

Experience supporting UAE government or semi-government customers.

Arabic language proficiency.

Candidate Requirements

Currently based in the UAE with a valid residence visa, or able to transfer the visa without delay.

Available to join immediately or within 15 days.

A valid UAE driving licence is preferred for customer site visits.

Willing to work at customer premises and support occasional after-hours change windows

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity (Entra ID), and governance services.

2+ years of experience with DevOps tooling and practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM), and version control (Git).

2+ years' experience in infrastructure design, platform engineering, or architecture.

Strong proficiency with automation and scripting — PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or Bash.

Solid understanding of containerisation (Docker) and familiarity with orchestration platforms (Azure Kubernetes Service).

Deep understanding of cloud architecture, deployment patterns, and management best practices, including the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

Experience defining standards, governance frameworks, and reference architectures for cloud platform consumption.

Strong knowledge of networking concepts, storage configurations, virtualisation technologies, and disaster recovery/backup design for hybrid environments.

Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts) or equivalent platforms.

Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), including Entra ID, RBAC, PIM.

Strong understanding of security, compliance requirements, and IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, or similar).
