Founding Engineer - Full-Stack
We are hiring a Founding Engineer to anchor our engineering team. We’re looking for an enterprising and climate-conscious young engineer to build scalable financial systems and innovate on the future of climate finance. You will help build the first version of our product(s) and work
directly with our founders. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in product development at an early stage and an interest in climate tech. Bonus points if you’ve worked on marketplaces or lending products at a FinTech in a previous role.

Location: Hybrid / In-office (Mumbai) depending on preference

What you’ll be doing
• Lead the development of first product(s) across all phases of software and web
development including ideation, prototyping, design, production, and maintenance.
• Work closely with founders and internal/external stakeholders to build products, tools, and
services from scratch and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Be actively involved in requirements gathering, customer interviews and the creation of
robust product solutions.
• Brainstorm and lay the foundations of the technology and architectural roadmap as well as
the development processes.
• Share your technical expertise to help the team make thoughtful and scalable design
decisions and identify performance bottlenecks to troubleshoot quickly.
• Manage product development priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Hire and manage a small team of engineers (internal/outsourced).
• Ensure high-performant and responsive web applications and websites.

Skills & Qualities we’re looking for

Hard Skills
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4-7 years of experience as a full-stack developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled
developers) at a fast-paced, preferably early / growth stage start-up.
• Proficient with frontend technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript & ReactJS/VueJS.
• Proficient with backend technologies - Java/NodeJs/Golang/Python/Ruby.
• Hands-on experience working with any cloud AWS/GCP/Azure/DigitalOcean.
• Knowledge of codebases and version control systems (Git).
• Well-versed with SQL database design & RDBMS concepts.
• Strong arithmetic reasoning, logical and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong knowledge of code quality maintenance and performance analysis.

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Standups, Refinements, Retrospectives, Planning, and Requirement discussions)

RESPONSIBILITIES •
You will develop Android applications that scale to reach millions of users • You will continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be used to strengthen technology platform and development practices • Work with the team to create user interface layouts for customers and interfaces to backend web services • Design and develop systems and libraries that are highly reusable and maintainable • Understand product architecture and frameworks and come to the table with your ideas • Collaborate with different teams along with other Android developers to exchange new ideas and improvements

REQUIREMENTS • Proficiency in the standard Android tech stack - JAVA, Android SDK, Android Studio, SDK, adb, Layout Editor • Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and design patterns, MVC, MVVM, Dependency Injection and more • Restful API, JSON Parsing, XML Parsing, Retrofit Network Libraries • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices • Payment Gateways Integrations. • Experience of working with multi-language, multi-screen resolutions • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning • Excellent Android technical issue diagnosis and problem solving skills • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git • Experience with SQL databases, Java or full stack development is a plus

Desired Candidate Profile What you need to have:

React Native Developer 

# Experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS. # Experience working with JS libraries and Frameworks, jQuery, ReactNative & React.JS # Knowledge with Android SDK. # Knowledge in emote data via REST and JSON, cloud message APIs and push notifications are prefered. # Experience with third-party JS libraries and APIs. # Working knowledge of the different landscapes and environments.

Strong understanding and working knowledge in Database designing and programing (Query, Stored Proc) in SQL Server Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance. Worked on TFS 2012 / Continuous Integration environment Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices. Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
