Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Mobile Software Development Engineer (SDE-3) with expertise in React Native. In this senior role, you will lead efforts to modernize legacy applications and develop new, high-performance mobile applications for large enterprise

clients and growth-stage startups. You will play a key role in mission-critical projects, working closely with business stakeholders, customer technical teams, and MongoDB Solutions Architects.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership, system design expertise, and a track record of mentoring junior engineers. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, driving the delivery of scalable, high-quality mobile applications.

Location - Chennai or Bangalore

Required Experience and Skills:

● 7+ years of experience in mobile application development, with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with React Native and TypeScript.

● Proven experience building high-performance mobile applications for

enterprise-grade solutions or high-traffic consumer apps.

● Solid understanding of mobile architecture, component design, and system performance optimization, with hands-on experience in testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

● Expertise in integrating RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and cloud services into mobile applications.

● Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.

● Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of modern front-end development practices.

● Hands-on experience with mobile build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.

● Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experience writing and maintaining clear, detailed technical documentation.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have Skills:

● Familiarity with Atlas Device Sync, Ditto, PowerSync, ObjectBox, or similar technologies for offline-first solutions and data synchronization in mobile apps.

● Experience with native mobile development (e.g., Swift for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android).

● Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS) solutions (e.g., Firebase, AWS Amplify).

1. Proven working experience in Android app development and published at least one original Android app.
2. 1-3 years of experience in Android using the java language 
   Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs.
3. Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
4. Knowledge of MVVM and other Mobile design patterns and best practices.
5. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
6. Work in Agile, cross-functional teams and taking responsibility for deliverables
7. Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Senior Android Engineer at Digio your responsibilities will be:

• Drive Digio SDKs, Libraries, App development in Java, Kotlin and Flutter.
• Take care of performance and security Android level.
• Keep it crash free, modular, perfectly memory managed for mass level usage.
• Usage of Java based REST APIs and backend level developments.
• Drive Android level development as well around available AI, ML and Vision Android libraries.

Requirements:

• Education: B.Tech. (CS/IT) / B.Sc. (CS) / M.Tech. / MCA.
• Experience suitable to above mentioned requirements around Android. IOS experience is plus.
• Experience in creating Android Apps from scratch.
• Experience with Kotlin, Flutter. Experience with Dagger. 
• Experience in dealing with WebViews - Javascript and Native android communications.
• Good low level and High level software design and architecture skills, experience of working with distributed environments.
• Have good understanding on Android and IOS internals and memory management.
• Fast learning abilities.
• 3-5 years of experience and at least 2 years working with product company.

• Experience / strong knowledge in both iOS & Android Mobile Application technologies
• Proficient in SwiftUI, Swift, Xcode, Java, Kotlin and Android Studio, Flutter, React Native
• Experience with version control: Maven, Gradle, Git, Cocopods
• Experience in application submission / provisioning process
• Experience in performance and memory tuning
• Good understanding of computer science concepts, design patterns, algorithms and data structures

Bonus Points:

• Experience / knowledge in any of the Back-End technologies

• Designs and codes features for the Android application as per the specifications provided by Product and Design teams.
• Write unit tests for all features.
• Ships feature fast moving agile sprints.
• Works closely with API, Product Design and Product Management teams to brainstorm and chalk out details of features.

We are looking for a skilled professional proficient enough in working on building apps on Android platform.

As a developer, you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

Responsibilities and Duties

Develop, Deploy and Maintain mobile applications on Android.

Developing high performance personal and commercial applications with Push notification, location based services, social features.

Primary testing the applications and ensuring the programs and applications do not have glitches, errors, or low functionality.
Fixing bugs by collaborating with QA team members.

Understanding of configuration aspects of devices - Configuration utility, configuration profiles.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in iPhone applications development.

• Ability to conceptualize and design mobile applications based on client need.

• Ability to lead and mentor a small team of developers.

• Ability to understand business requirements.

• Should be able to work independently
