Position: Android Engineer

What shall be expected of you:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Work with outside data sources and API's.

Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies.

Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

You must have:

1-3 years of prior hands-on experience in building high-performance android applications.

Exceptional development skills in Kotlin and Java.

Published at least two original Android apps on the

Prior experience in building consumer applications.

Would be awesome if you are also good at:

Firebase (Events, notifications, storage)

Integration of attribution tools (Singular/ Appsflyer/ branch)

Integration of customer engagement platforms (Clevertap/ WebEngage/ MoEngage Android Engineer.

The inspiration for Wifi Dabba came from the founders working together for the last decade in the mobile application industry and realising the biggest reason for user churn being access to cheap and affordable internet access. From having worked on ground onboarding users and facing poor connectivity issues all the time, we took it on ourselves to fix the internet access problem for the common citizen.

At Wifi Dabba (YC W17), we are building a low cost, scalable & distributed Wi-Fi infrastructure to connect next billion users online. We do this by deploying a grid of lasers (Free Space Optics) over the cities & town and bring cheap and fast internet for everyone. We enable anyone to buy 1 gig of data access at a time at a price they can afford. Sachetization of internet access is the foundation to rebuilding internet for all. We do this by leveraging crypto and blockchain to truly make internet infrastructure ownership distributed — our vision is to be connectivity layer for the Web3 world.

• Strong engineering background preferably in Computer Science
• Experience architecting, developing, and testing android application code end-to-end
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with AWS services
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience working with mobile analytics
• Knowledge of code versioning tools like GIT, SVN.
• Experience in building user interfaces for mobile apps.
• Participate in design discussions with business users, web producers and engineering teams.
• Perform requirements analysis, high-level design, effort estimation for new business requirements and feature enhancements.
• Write clean, concise, and sustainable code.

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
2. 2+ years of practical experience in Native Android Development
3. 2+ years of experience using Kotlin/Java
4. Experience developing highly performant code and view layouts and the ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks
5. Designing applications with latest frameworks and architecture such as MVVM, etc.
6. An excellent understanding of best practices for concurrency and threading is a big plus
7. A disciplined approach to development, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment
8. A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things higher
9. Having worked with the Realm database and dagger is a big plus.

About the Role:

You are a passionate Senior Consultant who will lead a team and own on-time technical delivery for the projects assigned, with high quality. You will design and implement new software, maintain and improve existing software ensuring that software functionality is implemented with a focus on code optimization and organization. You will be accountable to provide coaching and mentoring to Sr. Associates, Associates, and Junior Associates. You will be responsible to apply Agile methodology daily and follow Definition of Done (DoD) process for better quality by maintaining unit test , code coverage and integration test coverage.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the UX/product team to understand the requirements.
2. Conduct feasibility analysis and high level technical design for changes proposed to the application.
3. Design and build highly scalable multi vendor applications.
4. Integrate with third party SDK for analytics and other app features.
5. Design database and develop appropriate backend services as needed for the mobile app.
6. Debug, Analyse and Optimise the performance of the application.

       7.Build and deploy to app stores (iOS and Android).

       8.Work with mobile devices testing platforms to accelerate testing               across different devices.

       9.Write high quality code with unit tests and detailed documentation.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

1. Overall Mobile development exp. of 4+ years
2. React Native Experience of 3+ years
3. Strong development and fundamental knowledge of React Native.
4. Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
5. Strong knowledge of React workflows (such as Redux).
6. Strong knowledge of Android Application development.

9. Should be well verse with Mobile Application Architecture.
