AWS Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role requires strong technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code (IaC). The ideal candidate should also have direct client-facing experience and a proactive approach to managing both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients to understand infrastructure requirements and implement DevOps best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.).
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Write robust automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and ensure high uptime and reliability.
• Execute and optimize SQL queries for MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide technical support to stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Proven experience in client-facing engagements and communication.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services – EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub.
• Solid understanding of SQL and working experience with MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Lead the pre-sales (25%) to post-sales (75%) efforts building Public/Hybrid Cloud solutions working collaboratively with Intuitive and client technical and business stakeholders

Experience in analyzing customer's business and technical requirements, assessing existing environment for Cloud enablement, advising on Cloud models, technologies, and risk management strategies

Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals and align with corporate technology strategies

Extensive experience building Well Architected solutions in-line with AWS cloud adoption framework (DevOps/DevSecOps, Database/Data Warehouse/Data Lake, App Modernization/Containers, Security, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Cost Management and Operational Excellence)

Experience with application discovery prefera bly with tools like Cloudscape, to discover application configurations , databases, filesystems, and application dependencies

Experience with Well Architected Review, Cloud Readiness Assessments and defining migration patterns (MRA/MRP) for application migration e.g. Re-host, Re-platform, Re-architect etc

Experience in architecting and deploying AWS Landing Zone architecture with CI/CD pipeline

Experience on architecture, design of AWS cloud services to address scalability, performance, HA, security, availability, compliance, backup and DR, automation, alerting and monitoring and cost

Hands-on experience in migrating applications to AWS leveraging proven tools and processes including migration, implementation, cutover and rollback plans and execution

Hands-on experience in deploying various AWS services e.g. EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Security Groups etc. using either manual or IaC, IaC is preferred

Hands-on Experience in writing cloud automation scripts/code such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation Template (AWS CFT) etc.

Hands-on Experience with application build/release processes CI/CD pipelines

Deep understanding of Agile processes (planning/stand-ups/retros etc), and interact with cross-functional teams i.e. Development, Infrastructure, Security, Performance Engineering, and QA

Additional Requirements:

Work with Technology leadership to grow the Cloud & DevOps practice. Create cloud practice collateral

Work directly with sales teams to improve and help them drive the sales for Cloud & DevOps practice

Assist Sales and Marketing team in creating sales and marketing collateral

Write whitepapers and technology blogs to be published on social media and Intuitive website

Create case studies for projects successfully executed by Intuitive delivery team

Conduct sales enablement sessions to coach sales team on new offerings

Flexibility with work hours supporting customer’s requirement and collaboration with global delivery teams

Flexibility with Travel as required for Pre-sales/Post-sales, Design workshops, War-room Migration events and customer meetings

Strong passion for modern technology exploration and development

Experience with Multi-cloud (Azure, GCP, OCI) is a big plus

Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation as well as Advanced Windows and Linux Engineering is a big plus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for design, implementation, and continuous improvement on automated CI/CD infrastructure
• Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
• Responsible for designing topology to meet requirements for uptime, availability, scalability, robustness, fault tolerance & security
• Implement proactive measures for automated detection and resolution of recurring operational issues
• Lead operational support team manage incidents, document root cause and tracking preventive measures
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously validating/fixing vulnerability assessment reports and risk management
• Responsible for the design and development of tools, installation procedures
• Develops and maintains accurate estimates, timelines, project plans, and status reports
• Organize and maintain packaging and deployment of various internal modules and third-party vendor libraries
• Responsible for the employment, timely performance evaluation, counselling, employee development, and discipline of assigned employees.
• Participates in calls and meetings with customers, vendors, and internal teams on regular basis.
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with good technical knowledge regarding build, release, and systems engineering

Technical Skills:

• Experience with DevOps toolchains such as Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Bitbucket
• Experience with Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Prometheus ,Grafana
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Sound understanding of cloud technologies preferably AWS technologies
• Linux, Windows, Scripting, Configuration Management, Build and Release Engineering
• 6 years of experience in DevOps practices, with a good understanding of DevOps and Agile principles
• Good scripting skills (Python/Perl/Ruby/Bash)
• Experience with standard continuous integration tools Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines
• Work on software configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and other business productivity tools
• Working knowledge on HSM and PKI (Good to have)

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ Years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/setting up of the Linux environment, who can write shell scripts for any given requirement.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring AWS or GCP services from SCRATCH and maintaining them.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring Kubernetes & EKS and ensuring high availability of container orchestration.
• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up CICD from SCRATCH in Jenkins & Gitlab.
• Experience configuring/maintaining one monitoring tool.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Candidates with certifications - AWS, GCP, CKA, etc will be preferred
• Hands-on experience with databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, RDS).

Experience:

• Min 3 years of experience as SRE automation engineer building, running, and maintaining production sites. Not looking for candidates who have experience only as L1/L2.

Timings:

• The person is expected to deliver with both high speed and high quality as well as work for 40 Hours per week (~6.5 hours per day, 6 days per week) in shifts which will rotate every month.

Responsibilities

• Build and support always-available private/public cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
• Build AWS or other public cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS) based docker applications in AWS.
• Create custom OS images using Packer.
• Create and revise infrastructure and architectural designs and implementation plans and guide the implementation with operations.
• Liaison between application development, infrastructure support, and tools (IT Services) teams.
• Development and documentation of Chef recipes and/or ansible scripts. Support throughout the entire deployment lifecycle (development, quality assurance, and production).
• Help developers leverage infrastructure, application, and cloud platform features and functionality participate in code and design reviews, and support developers by building CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo, Jenkins, or Spinnaker.
• Create knowledge-sharing presentations and documentation to help developers and operations teams understand and leverage the system's capabilities.
• Learn on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision.
• Leverage scripting (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python) to build required automation and tools on an ad-hoc basis.

Who we have in mind:

• Solid experience in building a solution on AWS or other public cloud services using Terraform.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility.
• Extensive knowledge in containerized application and deployment in Kubernetes
• Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system, RHEL preferred.
• Proficiency with shell scripting.
• Experience with Java application servers.
• Experience with GiT and Subversion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences.
• Experience working in a large-scale operational environment.
• Internet and operating system security fundamentals.
• Extensive knowledge of massively scalable systems. Linux operating system/application development desirable.
• Programming in scripting languages such as Python. Other object-oriented languages (C++, Java) are a plus.
• Experience with Configuration Management Automation tools (chef or puppet).
• Experience with virtualization, preferably on multiple hypervisors.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in related fields
• Certificates of training in associated fields/equipment’s

• 2+ years of demonstrable experience leading site reliability and performance in large-scale, high-traffic environments
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills geared to getting things done

• Strong understanding of SRE concepts and the DevOps culture. Set the direction and strategy for your team, and help shape the overall SRE program for the company
