As a software engineer with experience in Erlang and Ejabberd, you would be responsible for evolving the core messaging and presence platform in a large scale distributed environment. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new features and capabilities in the Erlang based components with a focus on aggressive growth and scale. \n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities: \n\nResearch, design, development, test and support of Erlang based software and ejabberd \n\nArchitect and develop scalable, distributed solutions for emerging platform features \n\nDevelop solutions using distributed concurrent programming, software packaging and release \n\nWrite code in Erlang \n\nEvaluation of open source Erlang killer apps \n\nQualifications, Experience, Education:\n\nBA/BS Degree from an accredited four year educational institution \n\n6+ years of Erlang and OTP programming experience \n\nMust be passionate about Erlang \n\nSuperstar programming skills in Erlang \n\nExperience with development and distribution of open-source software such as SSH, OpenVPN, Apache, OpenLDAP, ejabberd preferred \n\nKnowledge of relational databases and concepts \n\nExperience with other Programming languages \n\nKnowledge of Distributed Computing, and revision control software \n\nMust have a strong understanding of client/server protocols including TCP/IP, RTP, RTSP, RTCP and HTTP \n\nExperience with XML-based protocols (XMPP, WCTP is a must) \n\nExperience with automation and scripting (shell scripting, perl, python, or ruby preferred) \n\nPrior experience developing enterprise applications and/or mission-critical applications\n\nProficient at troubleshooting network-related issues\n\nStrong work ethic, demonstrate a commitment to detail, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills\n\nGood verbal and written communication in English \n\nMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others ."
