Job Description - Job Title: Expert Erlang Developer Project Location: Marathahalli , Bengaluru, India Salary : Open Working Hours : 40 - 60 Hours in a week Accommodation/Flights : Provided by company Job Purpose :- This position represents a unique opportunity to help drive the evolution of our messaging platform. As a software engineer with experience in Erlang and Ejabberd, you would be responsible for evolving the core messaging and presence platform in a large scale distributed environment. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new features and capabilities in the Erlang based components with a focus on aggressive growth and scale. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Research, design, development, test and support of Erlang based software and ejabberd Architect and develop scalable, distributed solutions for emerging platform features Develop solutions using distributed concurrent programming, software packaging and release Write code in Erlang Evaluation of open source Erlang killer apps Qualifications, Experience, Education: BA/BS Degree from an accredited four year educational institution 6+ years of Erlang and OTP programming experience Must be passionate about Erlang Superstar programming skills in Erlang Experience with development and distribution of open-source software such as SSH, OpenVPN, Apache, OpenLDAP, ejabberd preferred Knowledge of relational databases and concepts Experience with other Programming languages Knowledge of Distributed Computing, and revision control software Must have a strong understanding of client/server protocols including TCP/IP, RTP, RTSP, RTCP and HTTP Experience with XML-based protocols (XMPP, WCTP is a must) Experience with automation and scripting (shell scripting, perl, python, or ruby preferred) Prior experience developing enterprise applications and/or mission-critical applications Proficient at troubleshooting network-related issues Strong work ethic, demonstrate a commitment to detail, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills Good verbal and written communication in English Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others .
