VBA and Database developer

💥 What will you do?

As a Backend Engineer, you will

• Create and maintain server-side code
• Designing database schemas to support business requirements
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Write unit tests
• Stay up to date with current best practices
• Collaborate with front end engineers
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with web-application-related technical issues and support their requirements.

While we do not have a strict list of requirements for candidates interested in this role, some indicators that you would fit this role and our engineering culture are 

• 2+ years of relevant work experience as a Backend engineer using Python frameworks like Django, Flask, etc
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of OOP concepts
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience writing unit tests for the application is a plus
• Experience with building REST APIs
• Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities:

> Collaborate on high-quality web applications using PHP (Laravel) and frontend frameworks like ReactJS/VueJS.

> Assist in designing secure RESTful APIs and conduct API testing with tools like Postman.

> Contribute to test case creation and maintenance (PHPUnit/FeatureUnit).

Work within an Agile environment, participating in sprint activities.

> 1 to 2 years of Full Stack development experience with a focus on PHP (Laravel).

> Strong understanding of RESTful API design and frontend technologies.

> Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

> Familiarity with version control (Git) and JIRA software.

> Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

> Experience with 3rd party integrations and payment gateways.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work in an existing codebase and collaborate with a diverse team
• Experience in building enterprise-scale backend REST APIs with frameworks such as Nest.js & Express.js using an API-first paradigm
• Intimate knowledge of crafting highly performing database queries
• Hands-on experience implementing relational database structures, including tables, indexes, views, etc.
• A mindset towards building systems for the cloud and DevOps fundamentals
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services is good to have. If not then willingness to learn should be there.
• Focus towards building security, performance, and scalability into services from the beginning
• Experience with debugging code and troubleshooting technical issues in order to craft appropriate solutions

REQUIREMENTS:

Primary Skills -

• PHP Version 7.1.33 or higher
• Codeigniter 3 or higher (PHP MVC Framework)
• MS SQL Server 2005 (DB)
• Apache 2.4.6 or higher (Web Server)Ubuntu 18.04 or higher / Red Hat Linux / Similar (Operating System on machines).

Good to Have:

The knowledge of any of the following Content Management Systems:

• Magento
• Wordpress
• Prestashop
• Drupal
• Opencar

Basic experience developing web applications using Cake PHP or other MVC framework

Strong PHP skills with any MVC Framework -Cake PHP / Laravel / Yii / Code ignitor, etc.

Strong MySQL, AJAX, jQuery, HTML & JavaScript skills

Experience integrating Payment Gateway and third-party PHP libraries is preferable

Work alongside a broader team with a focus on Design, UX, Optimization, Back End processes, DevOps Efficiency with the goal of delivering high-quality projects using the latest tech stack. A keen eye for detail, along with a passion to deliver quality, customer-focused solutions is absolutely essential.

Championing Web Development: You will be responsible for handling web development from ideation to production.

Collaboration with product manager and other developers, owning a large part of the process from problem understanding to shipping the solution.

Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing web products.

Desired Profile

Great skills in PHP MVC frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.

Extensive Experience in API integration and development is required.

Experience in jQuery and AJAX.

Working knowledge of web technologies including HTML, and CSS is required.

Basic understanding of version control systems like Git and SVN.

Experience working with AWS or any other Linux Cloud Servers is a huge plus.

Passionate about writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

Strong analytical and debugging skills and experience building consumer systems at scale.
