50% Project based work:

• Drive to change and constantly improve the service that is delivered to the customer with minimum disruption.
• Perform tasks with competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Create and Managing VM's with different combinations of OS and software using EC2 / RDS / Patching.
• Manage high volume networks and large traffic websites and make recommendations for scaling when appropriate.
• Drive automation for repetitive tasks to build efficiency and ensure consistent delivery.

40 % Break/Fix:

• Apply analytical skills to assist in the resolution of complex, time-sensitive issues or escalate, when necessary, with a sense of accountability and sound personal judgment.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques on a variety of operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs while adhering to security and best practice standards.
• Experience troubleshooting application and service issues, implementing and communicating technical solutions.
• Demonstrated experience to resolve issues and restore service quickly.
• Possesses the tenacity to delve to the root of the issue quickly, understand why it happened, and prevent it in the future.

Requirements:

• In depth understanding of AWS S3 Lifecycles, EC2 and EBS volumes, AWS Networking and VPC, AWS Regions and Zones.
• RDS performance monitoring and identifying data/sql issues using slow log query.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting using AWS CloudWatch Insights or similar tools for Application Log/Database Log monitoring.
• Hands-on experience working with ECS and Docker.
• Automation experience with puppet or Ansible.
• Proficient in scripting with bash and ruby/python.
• Proficiency in GitHub and Git Actions
• Expert level proficiency in Linux and application troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in CloudFormation or Terraform (Good to have)

Role 

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer that will help our team establish DevOps practice. You will work closely with the technical lead to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.

You will also help us build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you’ll build our CI pipeline, and train and guide the team in DevOps practices.

This would be a hybrid role and the person would be expected to also do some application level programming in their downtime.

Responsibilities

Role : DevOps Engineer

As DevOps Engineer, you'll be part of the team building the stage for our Software Engineers to  work on, helping to enhance our product performance and reliability. 

Responsibilities: 

• Build & operate infrastructure to support website, backed cluster, ML projects in the  organization. 
• Helping teams become more autonomous and allowing the Operation team to focus on  improving the infrastructure and optimizing processes. 
• Delivering system management tooling to the engineering teams. 
• Working on your own applications which will be used internally. 
• Contributing to open source projects that we are using (or that we may start). 
• Be an advocate for engineering best practices in and out of the company. 
• Organizing tech talks and participating in meetups and representing Box8 at industry  events. 
• Sharing pager duty for the rare instances of something serious happening. ∙ Collaborate with other developers to understand & setup tooling needed for Continuous  Integration/Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) practices. 

Requirements: 

• 1+ Years Of Industry Experience Scale existing back end systems to handle ever increasing  amounts of traffic and new product requirements. 
• Ruby On Rails or Python and Bash/Shell skills. 
• Experience managing complex systems at scale. 
• Experience with Docker, rkt or similar container engine. 
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar clustering solutions. 
• Experience with tools such as Ansible or Chef Understanding of the importance of smart  metrics and alerting.

• Good Knowledge on scripting languages like ruby, python or bash. 
• Experience in creating in deployment pipeline from scratch. 
• Expertise in any of the CI tools, preferably Jenkins. 
• Good knowledge of docker containers and its usage.

Good to have: 

• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails based applications and its deployment methodologies.

A strong background in Azure OR Amazon Web Services (AWS) or a similar cloud platform is a must-have, certification is a plus.

Excellent technical skills and knowledge include but not limited to: cloud methodologies like PaaS and SaaS; programming languages such as Python, Java, .Net; orchestration systems such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform; Azure IaaS servers; PowerShell scripting.

Fully aware of the DevOps cycle with hands-on on deployment models to the cloud.

Experience working with Docker and related containerization technologies.

Experience working on orchestration platforms such as AKS, RedHat OpenShift etc.

Extensive knowledge working with logging and monitoring tools such as EFK, visualization tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

Exposure to security alert monitoring tools.
