Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or higher-level education equivalent

 4 – 6 years of application development with design, development, implementation, and
support experience, including the following:

o SQL
o Messaging/RabbitMQ
o Asynchronous communication patterns
 Experience with Visual Studio and Git
 A working understanding of build and release automation, preferably with Azure DevOps
 Excellent understanding of object-oriented concepts and .Net framework
 Experience in creating reusable libraries in C#
 Ability to troubleshoot and isolate/solve complex bugs, connectivity issues, or OS related
issues
 Ability to write complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle and/or MS SQL
 Proven ability to use design patterns to accomplish scalable architecture
 Understanding of event-driven architecture
 Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ
 Experience in the development of REST APIs
 Understanding of basic steps of an Agile SDLC
 Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Role 

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer that will help our team establish DevOps practice. You will work closely with the technical lead to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.

You will also help us build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you’ll build our CI pipeline, and train and guide the team in DevOps practices.

This would be a hybrid role and the person would be expected to also do some application level programming in their downtime.

Responsibilities

• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of production systems.
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
• Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
• System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
• Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
• Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
• Manage the establishment and configuration of SaaS infrastructure in an agile way by storing infrastructure as code and employing automated configuration management tools with a goal to be able to re-provision environments at any point in time.
• Be accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Drive operational cost reductions through service optimizations and demand based auto scaling.
• Have on call responsibilities.
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Uses open source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project.
• Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow.

Requirements

• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

• Prior experience as a software developer in a couple of high level programming languages.

• Extensive experience in any Javascript based framework since we will be deploying services to NodeJS on AWS Lambda (Serverless)

• Extensive experience with web servers such as Nginx/Apache

• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Ability to present and communicate the architecture in a visual form.
• Strong knowledge of AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, Lambda, NAT gateway, DynamoDB)
• Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale (~ 1 Lakh users a day)
• A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, etc)
• Expertise with Git
• Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, TravisCI)
• Strong experience with databases such as MySQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis and/or Mongo.
• Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
• Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify the ones we should implement.
• Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.

Role : DevOps Engineer

As DevOps Engineer, you'll be part of the team building the stage for our Software Engineers to  work on, helping to enhance our product performance and reliability. 

Responsibilities: 

• Build & operate infrastructure to support website, backed cluster, ML projects in the  organization. 
• Helping teams become more autonomous and allowing the Operation team to focus on  improving the infrastructure and optimizing processes. 
• Delivering system management tooling to the engineering teams. 
• Working on your own applications which will be used internally. 
• Contributing to open source projects that we are using (or that we may start). 
• Be an advocate for engineering best practices in and out of the company. 
• Organizing tech talks and participating in meetups and representing Box8 at industry  events. 
• Sharing pager duty for the rare instances of something serious happening. ∙ Collaborate with other developers to understand & setup tooling needed for Continuous  Integration/Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) practices. 

Requirements: 

• 1+ Years Of Industry Experience Scale existing back end systems to handle ever increasing  amounts of traffic and new product requirements. 
• Ruby On Rails or Python and Bash/Shell skills. 
• Experience managing complex systems at scale. 
• Experience with Docker, rkt or similar container engine.

• Experience in creating in deployment pipeline from scratch. 
• Expertise in any of the CI tools, preferably Jenkins. 
• Good knowledge of docker containers and its usage.

• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails based applications and its deployment methodologies.

A strong background in Azure OR Amazon Web Services (AWS) or a similar cloud platform is a must-have, certification is a plus.

Excellent technical skills and knowledge include but not limited to: cloud methodologies like PaaS and SaaS; programming languages such as Python, Java, .Net; orchestration systems such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform; Azure IaaS servers; PowerShell scripting.

Fully aware of the DevOps cycle with hands-on on deployment models to the cloud.

Experience working with Docker and related containerization technologies.

Experience working on orchestration platforms such as AKS, RedHat OpenShift etc.

Extensive knowledge working with logging and monitoring tools such as EFK, visualization tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

Exposure to security alert monitoring tools.
