LogiNext is looking for a technically savvy and passionate Junior DevOps Engineer to cater to the development and operations efforts in product. You will choose and deploy tools and technologies to build and support a robust and scalable infrastructure.

Knowledge in building secure, high-performing and scalable infrastructure. Experience to automate and streamline the development operations and processes. You are a master in troubleshooting and resolving issues in non-production and production environments.

Responsibilities:

Scale and optimise a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases, web servers, application frameworks, caches, and distributed messaging systems Automate the deployment and configuration of the virtualized infrastructure and the entire software stack Support several Linux servers running our SaaS platform stack on AWS, Azure, GCP Define and build processes to identify performance bottlenecks and scaling pitfalls Manage robust monitoring and alerting infrastructure Explore new tools to improve development operations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 0 to 1 years of experience in designing and maintaining high volume and scalable micro-services architecture on cloud infrastructure Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration and Python/Shell Scripting Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto-scaling, VPC, Lambda), GCP, Azure Knowledge in deployment automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Cloud Watch Monitoring, Nagios Knowledge of Java Virtual Machines, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Kafka, Microservices architecture, Caching mechanisms Experience in enterprise application development, maintenance and operations Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills

Our goal is to have million+ users on our platform in the next 5 years, which is an extraordinary and exciting challenge for Engineering team to work on. The Role LeadSquared is looking for an engineer to be part of our DevOps team to build, operate and monitor our Cloud based SaaS platform. The role involves taking full responsibility of uptime, performance, security and cost of production, staging, test and dev environments. Our entire platform is hosted on AWS, comprises of web applications, web services, APIs, databases, analytics systems, storage and networking systems. We are looking for an engineer to be part of our team and help us build world-class infrastructure to host reliable, cost optimized and high performing LeadSquared apps and services. The initial focus would be to optimize our MySQL infrastructure which is currently on RDS and we are looking to migrate it to EC2. There are several other exciting projects lined up, in addition to opportunities to learn large number of exciting tools and technologies. Requirements: • Passion for building and delivering great software with a strong sense of ownership & pride in work • Experience in MySQL deployment, replication and administration on Amazon EC2. • Strong knowledge of Linux OS and shell scripting • Experience of deploying web applications on Linux platform. • Knowledge of Redis and ElasticSearch is a great plus.

Problem Statement-Solution

Only 10% of India speaks English and 90% speak over 25 languages and 1000s of dialects. The internet has largely been in English. A good part of India is now getting internet connectivity thanks to cheap smartphones and Jio. The non-English speaking internet users will balloon to about 600 million users out of the total 750 million internet users in India by 2020. This will make the vernacular segment one of the largest segments in the world - almost 2x the size of the US population. The vernacular segment has very few products that they can use on the internet.

One large human need is that of sharing thoughts and connecting with people of the same community on the basis of language and common interests. Twitter serves this need globally but the experience is mostly in English. There’s a large unaddressed need for these vernacular users to express themselves in their mother tongue and connect with others from their community. Koo is a solution to this problem.

About Koo

Koo was founded in March 2020, as a micro-blogging platform in both Indian languages and English, which gives a voice to the millions of Indians who communicate in Indian languages.

Currently available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu, Koo enables people from across India to express themselves online in their mother tongues. In a country where under 10% of the population speaks English as a native language, Koo meets the need for a social media platform that can deliver an immersive language experience to an Indian user, thereby enabling them to connect and interact with each other. The recently introduced ‘Talk to Type’ enables users to leverage the voice assistant to share their thoughts without having to type. Technology skill sets required for a matching profile 

 

• Experience between 3 to 7 years in a devops role with mandatory one or more stints at a fast paced startup.
• Mandatory experience with containers, kubernetes (EKS) (setting up from scratch), istio and microservices.
• Sound knowledge of technologies like Terraform, Automation Scripts, Cron jobs etc. Must have worked with goals of putting infra as code like setting up new environments with code.
• Knowledge of industry standards around monitoring, alerting, self healing, high availability, auto scaling etc.
• Exhaustive experience with various cloud technologies (especially on AWS) like SQS, SNS, Elastic Search, Elastic Cache, Elastic Transcoder, VPC, Subnets, Security groups etc.
• Must have set up stable CI-CD pipelines with capabilities to do zero downtime deployments on any one of rolling updates, blue green or canary modes.
• Experience with VPN and LDAP solutions for securely login to infrastructure and proving SSO. 8. Master of deploying and troubleshooting all layers of application from network, frontend, backend and databases (MongoDB, Redis, Postgres, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Aerospike etc).

Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer that will help our team establish DevOps
practice. You will work closely with the technical lead to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.You will also help us build scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll implement monitoring for automated system health checks. Lastly, you’ll build our CI pipeline, and train and guide the team in DevOps practices. This would be a hybrid role and the person would be expected to also do some application-level programming in their downtime.

Responsibilities

- Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of production systems.
- Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
- Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
- System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and
platforms.

- Manage the establishment and configuration of SaaS infrastructure in an agile way
by storing infrastructure as code and employing automated configuration

- Be accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Drive operational cost reductions through service optimizations and demand based
auto scaling.

Requirements
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a
sense of ownership and drive.
- Prior experience as a software developer in a couple of high level programming
languages.
- Extensive experience in any Javascript based framework since we will be deploying
services to NodeJS on AWS Lambda (Serverless)
- Extensive experience with web servers such as Nginx/Apache
- Strong Linux system administration background.
- Ability to present and communicate the architecture in a visual form.
- Strong knowledge of AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, Lambda, NAT
gateway, DynamoDB)
- Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale (~
1 Lakh users a day)
- A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, etc)
- Expertise with Git
- Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, TravisCI)
- Strong experience with databases such as MySQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis and/or

As a DevOps Engineer, you :

- Will work collaboratively with the engineering and customer support teams to deploy and operate our systems. 

- Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

- Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. 

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our test and production environments. 

- Take control of various mandates and change management processes to ensure compliance for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular) 

- Monitor and optimize the usage of various cloud services. 

- Setup and enforce CI/CD processes and practices

Skills required :

- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, ELB, S3, SES, to name a few)

- Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and hardening 

- Experience with automation using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent 

- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (Jenkins) 

- Experience with container related technologies (docker, lxc, rkt, docker swarm, kubernetes)

 

- Working understanding of code and script (Python, Perl, Ruby, Java)

- Working understanding of SQL and databases 

- Working understanding of version control system (GIT is preferred) 

- Managing IT operations, setting up best practices and tuning them from time-totime.

• As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for
• Automated provisioning of infrastructure in AWS/Azure/OpenStack environments.

• Deployment of application to various cloud environments.
• Should be able to lead/guide a team towards achieving goals and meeting the milestones defined.

Skills Required
